deff. Posted November 10, 2025 Posted November 10, 2025 (edited) For those who forget to turn off automatic updates - this mod is your friend. Download Delta Patcher Download one of your desired game version patch (1.10.163 or 1.10.984) Backup Fallout.exe, Falloutlauncer.exe and steam_api64.dll Download Backported Archive2 Support System, install it with mod manager. Extract from zip Delta patcher to your Fallout 4 folder Extract your game version patches to Fallout 4 folder Add Delta patcher to Mod Organizer 2 as executable Run Delta Patcher through MO2 Apply all three patches to default Fallout.exe, Falloutlauncer.exe and steam_api64.dll Run the game as usual At the moment only one issue - AAF menu is fcked up. Instead of letters - squares. Maybe need to launch a new game, but I'm not sure. Edited November 10, 2025 by deff. 2
rigothamus Posted November 11, 2025 Posted November 11, 2025 It doesn't work, I can patch the .exe, the launcher.exe, but not the steam_api, I get an error "wrong file". my game was next-gen.

rigothamus Posted November 11, 2025 Posted November 11, 2025 nope I used the good one for the next-gen, I tried also the patch update, but I still get the same error "the file you are trying to patch is not the right one"

I used to roll back to 1.10.163 - don't know how, but game updated automatic. Even with all restrictions for auto update. My old setup is working
E. Gairhald Posted November 11, 2025 Posted November 11, 2025 I think, as usual, we'll have to wait a couple of days for the mods to update. In these cases, instead of complaining, I just clean up translations and edit images. As the saying goes, "every cloud has a silver lining."

Several mod authors are no longer active, so some mods will remain in a broken state. This is one of the reasons why I left Skyrim, though now I have waited long enough, I have forgotten my "must have mods" for Skyrim. In fact I may even play vanilla Skyrim.
