dragongodmod117 Posted November 9, 2025 Posted November 9, 2025 Yes, I need help again. I've been looking online for anything to fix this issue, but nothing has worked. Whenever I unequip a body slot 32 item, my body shows this: Spoiler I can only kind of fix it by going into console, using showracemenu. This is what it should look like: Spoiler Some say entering the preset file and removing the skinOverride texture line fixes it, but it just comes back. Others say the texture is just wrong, even though I have not edited it, and I got it from here. Any insight would be much appreciated.
blank_v Posted November 9, 2025 Posted November 9, 2025 For some reason ur body mesh is losing it's Normal Map texture, it would be worth if You include Your Mod list, personally I dont know what mod could affect it so much but I would say that if You have DD or Dynamic Muscle mods then they could be overwriting NormalMaps somehow and its getting messed in the way... that would explain why using Showracemenu fixes the issue - because RaceMenu rebuilds ur character to reset body normal map back to default one... I never used FairSkin but I would guess its only texture set, if You are running AE Skyrim ( 1.6.x version ) then it could not be due to Texture incompatibility because AE supports only DDS BC7 LE -> BC3 SE ( 1.5.x ) -> BC3 + BC7 ( can read easy both LE and SE textures ) AE ( 1.6.x ) -> BC7 only So FairSkin unlikely does anything wrong to ur game as its most likely only set of DDS files... ... well after thinking... it could be that minimaps are generated wrong but I doubt it's that... It's only my guess but if You provide mod list then maybe we could think of something more: - It's either DD Mod or Muscle Mod that dynamically change Your character body ( as they also often overwrite and blend NormalMaps and from the picture Your normalmap is missing / is "default flat" )
traison Posted November 9, 2025 Posted November 9, 2025 (edited) Same issue as here. 20 minutes ago, dragongodmod117 said: Some say entering the preset file and removing the skinOverride texture line fixes it, but it just comes back. That's because you skipped half the fix. Edited November 9, 2025 by traison
