kannz Posted November 7, 2025 Posted November 7, 2025 i read that this could help performance are there any of you that do this? does it mess with mods or cause anything bad? they say to use archive2 is this something that is only able to be done with new gen?
nilead Posted November 7, 2025 Posted November 7, 2025 It definetly can have adverse effects, AFAIK .bsa files allways are overwritten with lose ones, regardless of load order. So, it can cause issues. But it can also massively improve load times. I had practicly all of my voice packs for mods .bsa'd, seen no adverse effects of it, but improved load times dramaticly. Impact depends on the sheer amount of files, not neccececrily their size - so yeah, voice packs are a prime target. Other than that - large outfit mods (Ninirim etc) might also be a decent target, but havent tried those. 1
kannz Posted November 8, 2025 Author Posted November 8, 2025 thank you for the reply. lol i always find weird forum posts that explain things half way. similar to cleaning mods and plugins i guess.. then you figure out that half of the info was very important.. after you have already ruined your install.. good thing i didn't try this yet it sounded like a good thing to try..
j1udith Posted November 11, 2025 Posted November 11, 2025 I just found one tutorial about this subject(a steam guide), so many people talk about this but there's no extensive guide. Like how do I know which mods are "loose" and which are not. I'm new to using MO2(literally downloaded it for this), I was using Vortex before. I have tons of gun mods and I want to repackage them into a BA2 to increase my performance, what should I do and where should I look?
