User13 Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Hiya folks. I'm attempting to the quest "Madness Within" (I think that's the name of it). I've entered the Palagius Wing of the Blue Palace. There are a couple of lower rooms, and then you go upstairs and there's a hallway. At the same exact spot in that hallway my game freezes and I have to ctrl-alt-del to shut it down. Tried Whirlwind Sprint, tried walkin backwards (cuz I'm weird and that's how my brain works), I've even downloaded the Unofficial Skyrim Patch off Nexus Mods. Nothing works. Any advice, beyond, 'skip the quest' which is what I'm about to do?

User13 Posted January 22, 2014 Author Posted January 22, 2014 By try another race, do you mean start a whole new game and get to that point to test it, or change the race of my toon? Yeah, I have the vamp issue, but that's a different toon. Also, I tried that link and it said it couldn't be found.

I'm talking about loading a save before the quest, switch to a vanilla race and troubleshoot whether the game still hangs on the same part of the quest. If it freezes, it's another issue, if it doesn't, the cots race is a problem, unless you're playing as a vanilla race for this particular issue.

Odd that it always freezes there.

The problem I have switching to other races is that it seems to reset my stats. I'm pretty sure I've already screwed them up and that I'm behind on several. I posted elsewhere about finding out what the base stats are for a Sky Children race so I can determine whether I've got my full allotment of skills, as well as asking for a command to change any I think aren't correct.

Odd that it always freezes there. I thought I remembered this happening before back when I first started playing. Don't recall how the issue was resolved. I assume you're not aware of a fix?
