This is due to recent issues and limitations with Pokémon Emerald, which have severely hampered development and are presenting far more bugs than they should. I'm not canceling the project, so don't worry, I'll just have to restart. However, I couldn't leave you with nothing, so I tried to polish the faulty ROM as best I could so you can at least play it. This way, you can at least give your feedback on things you'd like to see redone or replaced in the new version. I probably won't play it when it comes out, but I'll continue following for the art. Fire red would have been better, or maybe just ruby or sapphire. 3

The decision isn't completely made yet; it will be decided when I can try RPG Maker. If I don't find it comfortable, I'll probably continue with FireRed, but the real reason I want to do it there is because of the possibility of adding animations and more freedom for creating sprites. You can also join the Discord server to stay updated on new changes. greetings, i thought i'll use my first message to do as such i've only played until the first gym city, so the experience is limited. i thought i'd drop some things that crossed my mind while playing until that - it might be wise to check the balance of the pokemon levels. before the first major city, Crystal, finding lvl 12-14 wild pkmn is double of the almost all canon games, and while this is good exp, it can lead to overleveling immediately and if the overall level is already this high, lategame it can be a mess to balance later in developing, especially since the last trainer of the first gym, not even the leader, themselves, already touches lvl20. - the terrain needs a bit of work too in my opinion, the first route Spoiler after they capture the girl (forgot her name as i write this, apologies) is good that it's long, to give you the feeling of urgency to rush to save someone , but the trip you have to make from Bell town to Azure forest is painfully long for a early game route, having to pass 2 whole routes, 9 and Wild, (technically 3 since Bell is not connected to 9 and have to pass 10 for a second there.) without a checkpoint could make someone raise an eyebrow. thankfully the speedup of the emulator saves time in going back and forth, but at the same time, wild road and route 9 is basically the same route, it could just be a single, L shaped one, imho. regardles, constantly monitoring the mapping is a suggestion i'd make regardles of how good or bad the game is, as the more and more production goes on, you can get better, and i've played some fanhack/games where the later routes where clearly made by someone with more skill than who made the firsts, even if the person is the same. - Speaking of checkpoints, i'd suggest moving the one at the beginning of Azure forest outside the forest and giving it a more regonized look, or the classic hut often seen in official games. the position of the NPC suggests that it's not a trainer, but having the same sprite of one that you battled before in the game can be deciving. - regarding items. The base is (was) Emerald, and as such, it's safe to assume the PC in the MC room contains the usual potion. it's blocked by the Gardevoir plushie, making it unobtainable, so i'd suggest moving it. the shiny rock and the common key, 2 KEY items, are also extremely missables, especially the first one. i'd suggest gifting them to the MC forcibly, so that in case, in the future, those items are needed to progress, there won't be any potential softlocking. remaining on the key item side, i think that the scissors can be a key item instead of a usable one, too. lastly, since i don't even know if it's possible to code as such, but not losing the lust balls when used on normal pokemons would be nice. i tried to use one on a pokemorphed caterpie to see if it could catch those kind of pokemon, and lost one in the process. with the speedup of an emulator, using one by mistake could happen, and it would be annoying - this is just preference, but i feel there's an abbundance of darker colors, especially purple and its shades. (the starter is grey and purple, the uniform of the MC is too, the picnicker's hair, the hippie dress is pink, the dressed pokefan has a purple shirt, the grunts are magenta (duh) with a grey mask, and so on). - this is just a preference and a suggestion more than anything, but i like where in games that force you to have a specific starter, said starter has something that makes it special and different from other of their species. a peculiar sprite, a different evolution, type, whatever, cold be a nice idea. I'll keep them in mind when I switch development to RPG Maker, since the limitations of ROM hacking are a significant drawback, especially the palette and sprite limitations. But thanks for all of this; it helps me have a more detailed guide for starting the game Honestly, switching to RPG Maker makes creating sprites and programming the overworld much easier since it's not limited, although of course, I should try it out first before giving a final verdict. Because some dialogues are written wrong in english, but make sense in spanish (For example, in the dialogue before the first fight it says "but what?" instead of "What?", and it makes sense if it was "Pero que?") Nothing really major, but something to keep in mind while writing the dialogues 1

What do you mean not very good for making pokemon games? Pokemon Essentials was made specifically to make pokemon games in rpgmaker and some of the best fangames are made with rpgmaker.
