limbo Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 up until now i thought it was just a graphics mod to make Skyrim prettier... eyecandy as it were. reading this forum has led me to the conclusion that it helps with framerate. and such things. a recent flurry of Sexlab and sexlab mods downloading has left my game 'jerky' and slow.... any help understanding and choosing ENB would be much appreciated... cpu: intel duocore @2.66GHz ram: 8 GB video:ATI Radeon HD 4800 1024mb dedicated memory O/S: windows 7 64bit thanks in advance
Guest Spikes Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 From what you said, i gather that you mean, you installed an enb and a ton of Sexlab mods and now your game has problems. Sexlab mods is completely independent from enb. Your graphic card is low. Enb needs a medium to strong card to work. It's better for you to play without enb. Specially if you add high res textures in your game. Sexlab mods. Go back to a game without them, then install one at a time. Play it for a bit. Then if all good, install more. good luck!
limbo Posted January 21, 2014 Author Posted January 21, 2014 no i have not installed ENB. was wondering should I.. thankyou, you answered the question. i will remove other mods that arent so important to me so i can give more cpu to the sexmods and framerate.
Eu4orick Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 What settings have you got Skyrim running by default in? Or have you minor or heavily tweaked Skyrim's ini's? ENB itself is generally graphically intensive on your hardware and GPU for sure. You may need to find out which mods are causing performance drops too individually, usually texture heavy ones. So a lot of installs one at a time, test, compare performance quit game and install the next next till you have an idea what eats performance! Your either CPU bound or GPU bound or even both. It's very rare for a ENB to run any faster than Skyrim's default no added suger, http://www.hialgo.com/main.html is perhaps one of these faster methods but it's for raw performance if your suffering badly like on basic laptops and old hardware desktops or just those people who like FPS+++. Your system specs sound like medium requirements with a hard push to run smoothly for high and ultra settings with hefty modding going on in the background. If want to try the latest ENB from http://enbdev.com/index_en.html you may have to test it see if you get a boost or lack of as it's designed really for quality/candy with the right presets which you'll find everywhere on Nexus.
