Strange Lighting Issue when becoming vampire

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

I've had this persistent issue that occasionally pops up, and I haven't been able to figure it out.  When I become a vampire, it seems like something is taking a snapshot of my race normal map or something, and its overriding the current one.  This is usually unnoticeable until I remove my body slot clothing,  It also persists through racemenu changes.  When I try to "reset" my skin tone through racemenu, it'll work until I equip or unequip something to slot 32. I haven't been able to find anything on this in the months i've had the issue. Also, when I use more informative console to try to figure out what the texture is, this empty value pops up.

Wouldn't the result of that be that nothing changes?

Explains why I can't really see anything wrong with your screenshot. The missing texture entry is weird; but other than that all I see is a Redguard vampire, with a chin that can double as a warhammer, who has been dipped head-first into a barrel of babyoil. My point being, all these things can be achieved in-game without it being a bug.

Since you can apparently get it to behave occasionally, maybe consider posting an image of what your character is supposed to look like?

Lol it's raining and I just took a bath with BiS so WetFunction is doing its job.  I can't take another picture ATM because I just went to a previous save before it broke and deleted the others. I'd have to get it to break again

To elaborate on the lighting issue, it's my torso. You can see in this picture it's darker than my head, but when you rotate the camera, it switches between looking like this, and being grossly incandescent. And it always makes my skin look flat/matte

Oh I thought that was a t-shirt.

Same issue as here.

Ah yes, that 2nd person who commented has the exact issue I have. So the fix is what you mentioned about editing the jslot file?
