I'm also doing portrait edits but they're a much bigger time commitment and there's still a few things I need to figure out about how Fates recolors hair in game.

Quick progress report:

I've got 15/35 portraits drawn so far. Even though my pace has slowed down, I'm still confident that'll be done sometime in November.

As far as what is included in the mod, It'll be every playable woman in the cast with the exception of Kana and Midori. I'm still on the fence about Elise, the game deems her old enough to have children but no amount of curves I can give her changes the fact shes baby faced. 

I'll probably make a separate mod after this one to include unique npcs like Mikoto.

 

Here's the pngs of the characters I've done and of course none of them are final until the mod releases.

May I ask a question? I remember a long time ago when Fates was brand new, there was a video showing that someone had modded the game to give every single character Camilla's body. Just each character's head placed on the body of Camilla's unique model that she has for the Malig Knight class. As I recall, every character had their default class, so it was purely a cosmetic mod that doesn't affect gameplay. It was kind of a meme video (when I said "every character", I do mean EVERY), but I've greatly wanted to know ever since how it was possible, and if it would be possible to do it in my own game, but with only the female characters. I like huge breasts, but I feel like getting my hopes up that there would ever be a big tiddy mod with custom models for a decade-old 3DS game is foolish, so this is probably the best thing I can hope for. Does anyone know how to make it so that every female playable character uses Camilla's Malig Knight model in every class? Or, something else I would like would be to have a different body model for each "faction", so all Nohrian girls have Camilla's Malig Knight model, all Hoshidan girls have Kagero's Ninja model, all "neutral" girls (Azura, Felicia, etc) have Charlotte's Fighter model, and amiibo Lucina uses the generic female Fighter model (for the blue color).

 

I'm also interested in knowing if there's a way to edit Awakening to give all of the girls in that game the generic female Archer model in all classes, for the same reason.

The way Fates does unique models is based on the character in the specific class. For example if a character meets the conditions of "Is Camilla" and "Is a malig knight" it will apply Camilla's unique model. So it's absolutely possible to edit the ROM 3 assets to give every character Camilla's body, however, that would require making a new item in the ROM 3 assets for every character in every class to call upon Camilla's model. It's not necessarily a hard mod to make, just a tedious one.

Alternatively a much easier mod to make would to set every characters body type to big breasted which is just a simple flag to check in the characters core data. It wouldn't override unique models but any generic model the character uses would be big breasted (with the exception of a few classes that don't have a big breasted variant).

Thanks for the info. What tool would I need to use to accomplish this? I've never attempted to edit an FE game before, so I have no idea what program these screenshots are from.

I wasn't even aware Fates had different generic class models for different body types. I haven't played Fates in a long time, so maybe I'm remembering wrong through.

The tool is called Paragon, it can edit the files of Fates, Awakening, Echoes, Path of Radiance, and Radiant Dawn. It requires you to dump the games files so you need an emulator to do that.

 

As far as Fates body type mechanic, the underwear models definitely have separate models for the body types. I haven't investigated enough with all the other classes to know if there's a difference.

This is a nice mod, thank you for making it! I was wondering, for my purposes I've made my own patch which re-adds the Japan-only swimsuits into the game, and while at it I've made it so you can still buy both the vanilla (clothed) and modded (nude) variants of each equipment (including purchasable underwear). Additionally, I've noticed some slight issues with a few of the nude textures, so I cleaned them up myself.


So, I wanted to ask if it would be ok with you if I uploaded my edit of the mod here, so people can have an option to still use the unmodified outfits too while also using the nude ones? If not I understand, just thought it could be helpful to someone.

Nice, thank you! In the file I'm sharing, I've separated the accessory shop swimsuits + underwear part of the mod and the class / character textures into 2 separate folders to make it a bit clearer what is what (folders are "ACCESSORIES" and "CLASSES" respectively). I've only touched the files in the "ACCESSORIES" folder, the ones in "CLASSES" are still the same as yours. For those using this version, please don't remove any files from the "ACCESSORIES" folder, as the game might crash if it can't find some of the files. You can still remove textures from "CLASSES" without issues if you don't want to use some specific ones.

 

IMPORTANT NOTE: To keep both the vanilla and modded swimsuits, I had to rename the files of the modded ones. This means that for those who downloaded the original mod before, either delete the original mod completely and do a fresh re-install using this edited mod, or manually delete all of the original mod's swimsuit and underwear files from your mod directory. Otherwise, you would only have 2 duplicate nude swimsuits available for purchase, instead of separate clothed and nude versions.

 

ANOTHER IMPORTANT NOTE: I made the "ACCESSORIES" part of the mod with a European copy of Fates. For people with American copies, all you need to do to make it compatible with your game is to go to "ACCESSORIES/romfs/m" and change the name of the "@U" folder into "@E".

 

This mod has a few more files than the original mod due to editing the accessory shop. If you are asked to overwrite something when doing a fresh install, it is likely a conflict with another mod.

 

Some points about how this edited mod works:

  1. I've made the prices of all swimsuits and underwear free by default. For those who don't like that, I've made 2 variants, one where the prices are the same as in the OG JP version (in "variants/og_cost_store"), and one where they all cost 1 material (in "variants/1_cost_store"). Underwear will always be free no matter which of the 3 versions you're using. Just throw the desired variant's "romfs" folder into your mod directory AFTER putting the main "romfs" folder from "ACCESSORIES" there first, and let it overwrite when asked.
  2. The Toga of Love is now unlocked at accessory shop level 3, instead of having to grind hearts with your spouse to max like it was in the OG JP version.
  3. The nude version of underwear is the default one used by characters when another one isn't equipped.
  4. Here's the list of texture tweaks I've done to clean them up a little:
    1. Bold Swimsuit (both sizes): The original mod removed a texture used at the bottoms where the cloth would wrap around the gold rings, this edit restores the texture.a.png.e44a229d2ed000d908c712947473d838.png
    2. Seashell Suit (standard size): The original mod left a few black pixels between the breasts, this edit removes them.
    3. Tropical Suit (big-breasted size): The original mod left a few black pixels between the breasts, this edit removes them.
    4. Nohrian Underwear (big-breasted size): The damaged version of the texture doesn't have semi-transparent and torn underwear, like the standard size damaged version does. I assumed this was done in error considering the big-breasted undamaged version still has transparency, so I added the torn underwear to the damaged texture (copied from the standard size damaged texture).
    5. Bold Swimsuit (both sizes): The original mod left a skin-colored lump at the back of characters' necks. Now, I understand why it may have been done that way, as the texture is impossible to make invisible like the other textures in my testing. However, to me personally it looked better if I left the whole tie there instead. While the "fix" is used by a default, since this is subjective, I've made a variant that keeps the lump instead, while still fixing the other issue with the Bold Swimsuit. After a month in the making, the portrait mod is done. 

The mod edits all main playable character portraits, with the exception of Kana and Midori, to be half nude. I also included a text document of all the file names just in case anyone wants to remove a certain portrait. I made sure that all the characters were implemented correctly but I didn't check every single expression. So if there's any problems, let me know and I'll fix it.

I still plan to do portrait edits of Fates unique npcs but I've drawn exclusivity naked people for the past month so I'll probably take a break before starting another project. After that I could maybe make an Awakening or Echoes mod (even got a little head start with Lucina). I'd even do a male half nude mod for Fates if there's a large enough demand for it.

Well, depends on what you mean. As you may know, Fates has a clothes tearing mechanic, where if a character's clothes get damaged enough they get ripped off and the character is gonna be in their underwear for the rest of the battle (there are some weapons that can instantly destroy enemy clothes, as well as Sophie's preference skill). The purchasable swimsuits and underwear accessories in the "ACCESSORIES" folder only edit the underwear models (swimsuits count as underwear), so while you can technically see them in battle, it will only happen after a character's clothing gets torn off. In the castle characters also use their class models instead of their underwear models, unfortunately, so you're not gonna see them there. This is how body accessories work in this game unfortunately, not much I can do about it. The "CLASSES" folder, however, features textures made by the topic creator which apply to the class models specifically, so those will be nude in a battle and in the castle.

 

So if what you're asking is if the equipped swimsuits and underwear will override the regular class models, which I'm assuming you might mean, then no, that's not something this mod does, you must get them torn off first. There is a mod on Gamebanana called "Body Accessories Always Visible when equipped" which does manage to replace the class models with the underwear models, but the way that mod does it is through an incredibly tedious process of making model entries for every single combination of classes and body accessories, then through conditionals using the underwear model as the class model. This unfortunately means that you can't salvage the appropriate files from that mod and use them with this mod, as this mod creates new accessory entries that the Gamebanana mod wasn't expecting, so the end result would be extremely half-baked at best. Unfortunately, the creator of that mod doesn't permit people to re-upload modified files of their mod, so I can't create an edit for you which would expect these new entries without going against the creator's wishes, sorry.

 

So you have 2 options, if you want nude swimsuits and underwear to be permanently visible after equipping them, and you don't need both the clothed and the nude versions of accessories at the same time in the game, then use "Body Accessories Always Visible when equipped" from Gamebanana in combination with the topic creator's original mod which will completely replace the vanilla clothed textures with nude ones. But if you want both the vanilla clothed versions and the modded nude versions to be accessible, and you're fine with the swimsuits and underwear only being visible when characters' clothing gets literally torn off, use my mod. For the class specific nude textures it doesn't matter which option you choose, they will be always visible in battle. My mod was meant to be a bit more of a milder take on nudity, where characters going nude is more of an occasional thing rather than a permanent 24/7 one, hence why I wanted the vanilla clothed outfits in the game too and why I separated the permanent class textures into their own folder.

I commissioned a Hinata mod from a user on Lovers Lab like a year ago (not sure if they are ok with me mentioning them).

 

Would love to see all of the men!! And I'm always down to commission mods when I can

It also lack nude men in smash bros 3ds (for roy and marth)

We should also change their grab animation to buttfuck the opponent (man or woman)🤣
