Sexlab cum not showing after scene

So...I went the first 50 hours of my playthrough being a good boy and didn't have any scenes. My character obviously hating me for running around with 100 arousal at all times. 
Long story short, I found a pretty girl and just nope...there was no overlay on the upper thigh or buttocks or around the chest the way they usually appear. So I spent the next 10 hours trying various tests and the only time I could manage cum to appear was after an npc used FillHerUp to expel some. 
I do not have any extra mods focused on that part like SLACS and don't have any GlowBeGone mods. 
Apart from SLSO and FHU I don't have any mods focused on scenes either. 
My SL settings to display it is on as by default. 
What else could break this? Please assist. 
Also tried this... https://www.loverslab.com/topic/159844-cum-not-showing-in-sexlab-se/#findComment-3259782 but there aren't 2 settings so I'm just lost. 

Side note: I did notice that the default "Covered in Cum" effect is also not being applied after normal scenes so it's not just a matter of it not being visible, it is simply not being applied.

Line 1291 of sslConfigMenu.psc says otherwise. The option is there, unless you have something that's messing with SL's MCM scripts.

 

Edit: Oh and the cum effects being tied to the Orgasm Effects toggle is no longer true since v163_BETA9. The last version where I had to patch that myself was BETA8 according to my notes. But that doesn't change the fact that you seem to be missing the option entirely: i.e. something is messing with your SL scripts.

Any spell with a shader. Could be a mod, or the game itself. Oakflesh is one such spell for instance. The most common culprits I'd say are weather mods.

This is not a thing in SL that I'm aware of. But if we assume the mod that's supposed to provide this is reliable, then this would indicate yet again that you have something messing with SL's scripts. The answer to this question could be found in the Papyrus log.

It is the name of the effect being applied to characters at the end of a scene or orgasm if separated with SLSO and that effect chooses which texture to apply as seen here https://www.loverslab.com/topic/155167-sexlab-cum-overlays/page/3/#findComment-3280377

I will try to reinstall SL and all of its addons later and see if that makes a difference.

So the one setting is called Apply Cum Effects. What is the name of the other one?

The mod that's causing your issues is most likely SLSO. I bet it has it's fingers in all the orgasm related things in SL. But to answer your question:

Odd, I have never had that setting enabled because I believed it was purely for SFX and camera shakes. 
I did reinstall SL, removed SLSO, no difference. Reinstalled SL + SLSO, no difference.

That's how it is now. That's not how it was in BETA8 of 163 (and earlier presumably).

You're probably looking for a spell shader then. Tricky part with that is that it may not be possible to list them. There certainly is no way to view the active shader. Probably what I'd do in your case is go grab More Informative Console, prid 14, then inspect magic effects currently active. Go through these in xEdit to see if one has a shader.

 

Edit: Did you look in the Papyrus log for things going wrong related to this?

I found the problem. Turns out I completely forgot that the last thing I installed 2 weeks ago was SL Utilities Plus and Vortex did not handle this installation well nor did it like being installed after SLSO. Don't know which file prevented that effect from working but I am spent. After installing it manually, the problem went away. Can now see all of my overlays and the cum is back to normal.
