I know this is kind of a dumb question to ask,😅 (considering its probably in the back of everyone minds) but how many of the mods here are going to be updated for the Skin Shop?

I'm aware that it's up to the modders themselves if they want to tackle such a feat in retouching their creations, but out of curiosity, are they any mods that will be updated to work for Skin Shop skins? 🤔

I think it'd be great thing, as it allows those to not only preserve the cast as they are (minus the DLC's), but to enjoy swapping in & out of the mods we like without going through the process of closing out of the game to swap mods manual (if there are people that still do that), or using a mod managers to turn on/off the mods we want to use.

If Roche is up for it, I bet would do that for all the variants of his mods. He has at least two variants for each, so it would make sense. Big boobs in one slot, small in another, etc.

Did someone ask for a nude Cream mod?

And by "nude", I mean really nude?

Honestly? She looks 100% better without the gloves and shoes. I hope for this kind of nude treatment for every character.

Cant wait for the release!

That's adorable, and in a way more alluring than some of the costumes. It really makes me hope for something similar for the others, too... The "Shin Blaze" mod is great, and I'm still going to use it, but I'd prefer cute paws over human-like feet. If only someone would make mods tailored to my specific and niche tastes. Then the guys would all have several options, too.

All we can do is wait for the shop to arrive and update from there.
Since I don't think the shop or anything from it is in the game files yet.

Best case scenario ;nothing happens and we get more slots to mod over.
Worst case scenario; everything breaks and we start back from zero

I just hope its the best case since that make this game mod heaven.

Someone who is more knowledgeable about coding can correct me if I'm wrong.

As far as I'm aware, as long as the internal names for the characters and skins remain the same, I imagine nothing should break. And considering how it works, it most likely will stay the same. And the new slots will just be the same name but with a different number.

Most of the time a character or item in game will have a different internal name, as that's usually what they were originally going to be called, or just a throwaway name that stuck during the final parts of development. Since it didn't need to be changed. As long as the code recognizes the correct paths, that's really all that matters as far as I know.

Worst case? Everything breaks but it should only be a small thing to fix for an update. I cant imagine Sega rewriting how the whole system works for a skin shop, unless that's the only way they can add it.

The more popular mods will get updated sooner then later, like Infinite, Surge, etc. And considering a lot of the modders for the NSFW side of things are still active here, I cant imagine anything here wont get updated.

The only skins that I can see breaking are the ones that people released and never touched afterwards. So my main concern is hoping that all the track skins don't break at all.

Exacty, kinda thinking the same thing. we should be fine as long the code stays the same and nothing overlaps with eachother.

I also agree on sega not changing anything too major.Since that be a headache and a half for everyone.

A another scenario is the all the mods work but the ai skins just overlap with each other but they don't crash the game.
They kinda just exist. Like the og ai skin and ai color skin are the same thing.

But I doubt that happen since they are separate slots.

To my knowledge, all added ai skins have separate names and numbers (like 01, 02, etc.) so the game can load them with their own textures. It's how sage and amigo have multiple skins without conflicting AI skins. The only mods that have every broken that I at least know about from past updates were text mods and BGM mods (sometimes), but skins have remained uncorrupted.

Heads up: I am not putting Marie and Fexa over any on the new ai skins. That's 14 skins I would have to change for each slot, and Marie's stylized version isn't even out yet

Text and BGM mods break due to new things being added, usually. Like new gadgets or updates to existing things. Skins haven't really been touched till now.

And you are right, Sage and Amigo having multiple without conflicts show nothing should break.

And honestly? As tedious as it would be, its going to be nice to have multiple skins now instead of picking and choosing. I can have Blaze in her just her bodysuit, Outcome Memories, and Cat's nude skin without having to do anything. Hopefully it wont be too hard for you and others to port it to each slot, but it will be worth it in the end for people who enjoy your mods, imo.

Hopefully changing AI slots would only be a matter of renaming files and that's it, then it'd be very possible to find a workflow to easily get several variants.

I've used Total Commander to organize my ~700 mod folders into a unified, organized format.

Just to show an example of how it works, from a file list like this:

you can use bulk-rename with Total Commander to immediately rename all the files you need with an added counter at once:

Select all of them:

and use bulk rename like so:

Very clear and quick to use.

Makes managing folders very easy.

So if the AI situation is simple enough you'd just need to rename files in order to use different slots, this should definitely help.

Yeah this is hopefully what I'm assuming its going to be too. Just a simple rename to match the skin slot. If it turns out to be that simple, then that means authors wont have to worry too much as long as the player can rename it themselves.

The commitment to store and organize 700 mods is something I can commend, holy shit

Most of them are variants, but yeah I just got every NSFW mod that came out here because I feared things might get lost.

...and then I continued doing that, though recently I haven't been keeping up with it.

Besides, it's real easy to organize, it's all just [character] - [mod name] (variant) - [author]
I used Total Commander there to do lots of renaming folders to fit this specific format, the "find and replace" part of the bulk-rename tool is incredibly helpful.

This is kinda why I'm really hoping the AI skins would put some variety in people's mod placements, because look at this list of Miku mods (there's still more beyond this pic) and think that I have to pick one to have in-game.

If it's as easy as renaming, it's within reason to make a tool that just does the porting work for you.

"Oh, this skin is for base AI Rouge? Okay let me make copies with the corresponding names so it's on every slot."

Which is better for you guys to use Bluestar or Crosspatch? I'm Debating on switching when the new patch comes?

BlueStar and it's not even close, the built-in text replacer for mods makes it so mods don't have to fight over the one single language file that holds all the text for the entire game.

i don't use anything that requires them, so i don't use either and just drop all my mods in the ~mods folder, sorting them for load order by changing the names to have an a or a z in the front if needed.

unreal engine games are great for not needing mod managers.

Bluestar is easy and convenient for listing mods. You can even make text files and configure mods to make multiple combinations.

So far it seems we're only getting 1 new skin for each character, not all 8 colors
