Hades – Free the Nipple Edition

Not only Zagreus is striving for freedom anymore - the Free the Nipple movement has reached Hades!

 

Most male characters in Hades wear clothes that would show nipple, only for said nipple to simply not exist. This mod adds actual nipples to all character sprites in the game that should have had them in the first place. It also frees the nipples of female characters where appropriate, by either bringing them more in line with the male outfits (i.e. half chest bare), adding transparency, or a combination of the two – Closer to traditional depictions of Greek gods and goddesses.

 

I find it interesting that such a mod for Hades 1 is made years after a mod for Hades 2, but better late then never.

 

Special Thanks go to Wilhelm on Nexusmods, whose Image Exporter/Importer made all this possible and Dorian Bates, whose Aphrodite Edit for Hades 2 was used in my Edit for Hades 1.

 

How to Install:

1. Download and extract Hades FTNE.zip from this post (You should end up with .png files in a Folder called "Hades FTNE")

2. Download the H1 Image Exporter/Importer from THIS LINK (it's a .exe, but verified safe by various instances and includes the actual python script)

3. Using the Importer's "Apply Patch" setting (it's the default), select the "Hades FTNE" Path under "Patch Path"

4. Under "Hades.exe Path" select your Hades.exe file. For 95% of people, it is located in "(YourSteamFolder)\steamapps\common\Hades\x64\Hades.exe"

5. Click "Patch" and wait... several minutes. The Importer completely extracts and repacks large files, so it's normal that it takes a while.

6. Start the game and have fun!

Love the mod, it looks great and I like how not exaggerated it is. Any change for a Hades 2 version?

EDIT: It seems the Codex portrait for Athena is missing. Which is just fine by me, as it is the only edit I don't really like, but I figured you should know. I love how easy it is to personalize which edits to use, btw.

I'm a fool and don't exactly know where to extra the PNG files to and do they need to be in a folder? The one just has the PNGs loose in the zip.

Also to any steamdeck users. IT IS FAR EASIER to download decky loader, get the deckmtp plugin and copy the packages folder into your steamdecks packages folder then trying the coding solution that hades image explorer tries to walk you through.  Just a fair warning ❤️

Unfortunately, it doesn’t work for me. I followed all the steps, but I get a “desktop” or “manifest” error.
Does anyone have a solution ?

 

Could the game version be the issue ?

EDIT: I found the solution. You have to follow the steps exactly as the modder wrote them, in the same order + i used the Vulkan Exe this time.

As someone that runs a Mac, does anyone know of an alternative to the H1 Importer/Exporter app?

Or, better yet, we could make this compatible with Mod Importer! We'd just need to insert a 'modfile.txt' file into the directory that states what's being replaced (see here). Normally, I'd create and distribute this myself but I can't even locate the image file paths to be replaced since all those tools are made for Windows. 🥲

@jbwzrd213 @eddyboy i made a Mod Importer compatible version of this mod that also mixes in Leggings Be Gone from Nexus Mods - it works with the final game version v1.38290. is it ok if i upload it to NexusMods?
