HyperonicX Posted August 15, 2025 Posted August 15, 2025 I recently downgraded from the NG update and I'm unable to find a pre-NG version of the Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch mod. The worst part is that the mod author is being a jerk and has hidden the older versions of the mod preventing myself and others from . Can anybody please help me?
subaverage Posted August 15, 2025 Posted August 15, 2025 (edited) On the Nexus modpage is a file from 2023 under "Old files" still for download: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/4598?tab=files. From the date last updated I would believe it should be pre next-gen, or not? You only have to expand the entry. Edited August 15, 2025 by subaverage 2

Why not check in with Arthmoor on the Nexus or Discord and ask for directions. I would post the file but I would get into hot water if I did. Sorry

I'm not sure why you're able to see it and I'm not. The only one in the Old Files is still NG because it's saying you need all of the NG added files. And I already have that version. I get an error while trying to start the game, so that's useless. 1 hour ago, Caveman 74 said: Why not check in with Arthmoor on the Nexus or Discord and ask for directions. Sorry While I didn't ask directly, I did check the comments and he pretty much said "everybody uses the NG update these days and only a minority don't and I'm not going to cater to the minority", so that's why I'm asking here. I too went to Nexus and could not find the file it said I had downloaded it and it was archived, other mods show the archived files, not his. I always download mods manually and keep a copy in a ssd storage for just such an occasion. I am Sorry but I cannot risk getting kicked out for Piracy. Maybe ask the Moderators here too. subaverage Posted August 15, 2025 Posted August 15, 2025 (edited) The file in "Old files" is uploaded in the year 2023 and it is mentioned that it is for GOG game versions. Perhaps you could download it and check whether you see any reason why it should not work on Steam versions. Maybe it would need a manual install. If you want to try you should perhaps make a backup of your whole FO4 folder before. GOG can mean that it is for game version 163, because of GOG's policy not to publish the latest FO4 updated version. So maybe it's worth a download and a try. Edited August 15, 2025 by subaverage
spicydoritos Posted August 15, 2025 Posted August 15, 2025 You can still download archived file versions from Nexus. However, it takes some work to figure out the direct file link. For UFO4P, this is the archived file view: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/4598?tab=files&category=archived As an example, if you want the 2.1.4 version, right click the archived file title in your browser and inspect. That should display the html. Look for this line: <dt id="file-expander-header-244732" class="file-expander-header clearfix " data-id="244732" data-name="Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch" data-size="27787" data-version="2.1.4" data-date="1658972157"> You want to record the data-id number, which in this case is 244732. Now look back at the regular, downloadable file versions. Copy the manual download link. For 2.1.5, it would be this: https://www.nexusmods.com/Core/Libs/Common/Widgets/DownloadPopUp?id=270951&game_id=1151 To get the 2.1.4 version, replace the part that says "id=270951" with "id=244732". So your new download link for version 2.1.4 will be: https://www.nexusmods.com/Core/Libs/Common/Widgets/DownloadPopUp?id=244732&game_id=1151 Voila, now you've got the 2.1.4 version and you can install it via MO2 or Vortex. Be sure to save it forever, just like every mod's zip file, in case it disappears from the hosting site. 4

I actually did try that and it still required the NG stuff, and caused my game to crash. --- Anyway, I finally got it working. I had to also disable ALL of my CC mods too, which sucks. But it's finally working, so I'm happy... ish. 1

I really feel like this should be a stickied thread by itself. "if you like a mod, make sure you keep a backup of it."
