poporaltemporal Posted August 10, 2025 Posted August 10, 2025 NOTE!!!!! CK settings need to match the preset values that game find the files. (eyes, brows, everything really) 1. Find out NPC ID, race, weight, skin tone using any method (SSEEDIT, CK, racemenu...) 2. Export wanted NPC chargen in creation kit using ctrl-F4 (actors needs to be select) -- At this point its wise idea to check generated file in meshes\actors\character\FaceGenData\FaceGeom\xxxx.esp with nifskope. Check the layer names. 3. Do/get preset you want NPC to have DO NOT forget match all settings race, weight, skin tone, brows, eyes to the preset to avoid issues. 4. Export the preset under mesh tab pressing F5 -- At this point its wise idea to check generated file in SKSE\Plugins\CharGen with nifskope. Check the layer names. NOTE!!! CK nif tells you which layers are needed aka what must be found on the racemenu nif. If anything lacks the or is named wrong it will not work!! 5. Copy preset export NIF from SKSE\Plugins\CharGen to meshes\actors\character\FaceGenData\FaceGeom\xxxx.esp 6. Copy preset export DDS from SKSE\Plugins\CharGen to textures\actors\character\FaceGenData\FaceTint\xxxx.esp 7.Run Nifskope to the nif files in meshes\actors\character\FaceGenData\FaceGeom\xxx.esp check that all textures are ok If game does not load the facegen check all layers with nifskope and make sure all layers match and they exists. Racemenu export seems to be buggy + user mistakes can occur double check that CK generated layers exists on the export you want the NPC to have. 1
