kanne28 Posted August 2, 2025 Posted August 2, 2025 After making the mistake of granting the "Hyperfertile" trait to my sim, the household have one toddler, three infants (triplets), and a baby (yes, I have long lifespan enabled). Knowing this was going to be a nightmare to manage, I hired a butler and a nanny to help with the kids. It has been a nightmare. I don't know if I am terrible at playing this game, or if the AI is just awful, but are kids supposed to be this hard to take care of? When one of the infants is crying for help, at least two of the adults go to the child and try to help. I order one of the sims to feed the child, but the second one picks them up instead and then puts them back down, so the first one picks them up, but for some reason, the queued action disappears, then the sim drops the child without feeding them. It takes at least two orders to make them solve some problem with the kids. The worst thing is that, while the adults figure out what to do, the needs of the infant keeps getting lower. It is worse when more than one have needs to tend. I know that children aren't easy to take care of, but seriously, WTF. Thanks to this queuing action mess, my sims have pretty much zero sleep. And when all the feeding, diaper changing, and bathing needs have been taken care of, everyone is with low energy (including the children). The parents go up to the second floor to sleep in hopes of having some peace, but the game tells me, "Fuck you", and gives the toddler a nightmare after he just got to bed. Then this little gremlin with depleted energy gets up, walks the hall, climbs up the stairs, goes to the room and wakes up his parents, even though the closest adult was in the same room as him in first level. Who dafuk decided that was a good idea?! Oh, and on top of that, the kid keeps crying because he has low energy, but won't go to sleep until the "nightmare" moodlet fades away. I am sick of hearing children cry in this game; it has sucked all the joy out of me... I wonder if this is how my parents felt when I was little.
RPGirl669 Posted August 3, 2025 Posted August 3, 2025 lmao I remember trying to play with kids. Sims are terrible parents. Tne child is starving but yes lets take them out of the high chair and put them on tne floor instead. I ended up just keeping tnem fed enough to not get taken away and ignoring their other needs.
_Dir_ Posted August 3, 2025 Posted August 3, 2025 ahahahahahahaahaha WELCOME TO THE REAL WORLD!! I don't have children, but I do have nieces and nephews... lots of them. And playing is good training for life, hahaha.
FauxFurry Posted August 6, 2025 Posted August 6, 2025 The Sims 4 does not simulate extended families very well at all. Not every culture has degenerated so completely that other family members do not help young parents to raise their children either in the short term or in the long term. Households can not even handle more than 8 sims. 1
