Pink Pox


Concept
Adds a new affliction known as Pink Pox which slowly regresses and feminizes males.  Females can carry the disease and spread it however they are not effected by it.

Features
* Adds a new event potentially spreading Pink Pox amongst your colonists.
* Adds new injectable delivery method and associated cure to infect/cure pawn with Pink Pox.
* Sell Pink Pox and profiteer in emasculating the Rim.
* Fully configurable in the Mod Settings.

Description

Pink Pox is a progressive, neurodegenerative disease that silently stalks your colony. Believed to be the result of clandestine bioengineering, this mysterious affliction spreads indiscriminately but its effects are anything but fair.
 

While both males and females can carry and transmit the disease, only male pawns exhibit symptoms. Over time, those infected will undergo severe cognitive and physical regression, eventually transforming into helpless, childlike shells of their former selves. The final stages leave the afflicted barely capable of basic speech or self-care, fully dependent on others for survival.
 

Rumors from ancient comms traffic speak of a secret lab, a weaponized genome, and a twisted goal: to disempower male populations across the Rim without harming females — who remain biologically immune.

Mod Settings
Please adjust the mod settings to suit your play style.

Pink Pox

* Regresses and feminizes males.

* Cure be produced in the Drug lab.

* Configurable chance for cure to work.

Requirements

Harmony

RimJobWorld

* Compatible with RJW.  Load Pink Pox after RJW.

Future

If people like the mod I will continue to work on it and add more compatibility with other mods such as RJW and Alpha Genes.

Yes if people like the mod.  I wasn't sure about uploading it as it's a rather unique mod.  I would be grateful for any assistance on it however.

I would like to try this mod but lack of support of Rimjobworld and correct body parts is a problem for me. But I upvote adding it to git so it can be auto updated

This is actually a pretty cool concept. I look forward to messing around with it. If you are not sure how to change the body parts, I think there may be a sex change mod or two where you could see how they implemented that feature. Also going to second adding the mod to github. Otherwise you're doing great and keep up the amazing work! :)

I've just updated the mod and in the lethal stages it now correctly adds RJW body parts.

I managed to work out through trial and error.  In the lethal stages of PinkPox male pawns will lose their male body parts and procure the RJW body parts now correctly. 

Your support is appreciated.

Really like the mod so far! Would you be willing to give more age options in the mod menu? Would love to be able to set final age between 1-18 for different flavors of playthrough

I really like the concept, but I would need the opposite for my colony: an affliction that masculinize women (and has no effect on males). I don't understand from the description and screenshot if this use case is already covered by the mod via configuration?

Otherwise, I would really love to take inspiration from your code and implement a personal mod about it.

I'll hopefully upload an update in a couple of weeks to facilitate those options.

At present the mod primary feminizes and regresses males and does not effect females.  However females can carry the affliction with no ill effects and transmit it to fellow male colonists.

I may create a new mod to achieve what your hoping for.... time is limited... I'm not sure.

The mod was released for version 1.6 - I am unsure why it's marked as 1.5 only on the mod wiki.

No that was not the intention... I was fine tuning it during the progression of the mod... At first it was too quick and I amended it.  It's obviously far too slow to progress, what would you recommend for days to go from start to finish in terms of days?

I'd like to request some features and ask some questions.

 

Does the mod affect animals?

 

Also can you configure the mod to do following (if not could you add these features if they interest you):

-Only give the pawns the submissive trait

-Completely disable the regression

-Completely disable the genital/sex changes

-Stop the regression of skills and only add say the submissive trait and call it a day (from rjw)

 

I think these would interest a lot of people and allow you to submit this as a submodule to the RJW server for increased traffic to the mod (if that interests you)

Hello, I recently came across your mod, thank you very much for making it. Would you consider doing like a "lite" version of this, what I mean is that the pox would only change the gender of the pawn with the peak of the illness making a male pawn fully female? You could take a look at RJW Genes mod, there is something called feminization that is it's own hediff and stuff. Maybe you will find it useful.

After conversion:

body - feminine (need child)

breast - nipples (need >0)

senile diseases remain

 

I would like a drug or a ritual for the tribe.

Added this to my most recent play though but the timescale for the pox to take effect is super long. If it really is 1000 days as mentioned above that's 16+ in-game years. If you want it to be something that you have the chance to research a cure for to cure your colonists before it runs its course maybe something along the lines of 60-120 days, or 1-2 years in-game? As it stands, with it taking so long to run its course, most people won't ever see the effects of the pox and as such might as well not even install the mod : /
