dragonlover111180 Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 I've been delving into the forums a little, and still going to be looking more, and there is a burning question that seems to always pop up when I'm reading on certain things. Any time you are doing mods for your character, I always see people suggest punching your ` (tilde) and typing in showracemenu. Why doesn't anyone suggest going to Riften, into the Ragged Flagon, and talk to Galathil? She will let you go into the customization menu, with all the options for 1,000, and it will shine a light to help you see your customizing, and do it that way? When I go into the showracemenu option, it always makes my character paler than what I designed her to be. That is the only main difference I've seen, so why don't people suggest doing that as well?
Vioxsis Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Convenience mostly, plus if you use racemenu <(the mod) it shines a light on you too. The face sculptor was put in for the console kiddies who can't do anything with the (in game)> console.
Kalilies Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Afaik, showracemenu resets your skills though if you change anything more than tintmasks. I'd recommend this: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/20394/? Doesn't cost anything and doesn't fuck your skills up.
Ches Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Is there any way to disable that light? It distorts the color selection process by making everything more pale than it would be during actual gameplay.
gvman3670 Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 If you using the Race Menu or Enhanced Character Edit mods then you get a light shining on you wherever you're at. It can even be toggled on/off. And if you don't have one of those you can't make a character nearly as nice as is possible. The vanilla character editor is extremely lacking in adjustments.

Other than that it all stays the same.
