Skyrim.ini HAVOK fMaxTime setting - what does it do?

Recommended Posts

I found a recommendation to set

[HAVOK]

fMaxTime=0.0069

My current setting is

fMaxTime=0.01666667

What does this setting actually do, and what changes if I set it higher or lower?

Default (your setting) for framerate 60.

1s/60

recommendation without framerate is pointless.

1 calculation per frame. 1 havoc cycle.

PS:

wrong setting -> flying mammoths. (physics stops working)

I'm trying to get rid of screen tearing. In Nvidia control panel I set max framerate to 59. What shold be the correct setting in this case?

According to the formula you provided it would be 0.0169491525.

The 0.069 setting, if one were to multiply it either by 60 or 59 doesn’t make any fucking sense in this case.

Am i thinking correctly?

enable V sync or G sync to get rid of tearing.

You are right, this number makes no sense for 60fps. Does not even fit in the upper lower limits for fmax, fmin.

(fps/2  or fps x 2) for higher frame rates.

Framerate is the MAIN ticker for everything (physics, papyrus, everything in the game)

This has been designed for 60fps.

There are examples of malfunctions changing only part of the complex.

I would recommend 60fps in nvidia settings.
