Dwjliel Posted July 9, 2025 Posted July 9, 2025 (edited) View File Dynamic Big Portrait with Slave Tab I've been playing with 7 concubines from the culture in my Misogyny Mod and wanted a more direct way to access them, but without cluttering the character window of none played characters, and I wanted BIG portraits to oggle! UPDATE 2.1 Big Portrait Dynamic NEW.7z is the latest version and main D/L, - only need this. Slightly pushed up the portrait, especially on women so groins/dicks can now be viewed. Fully customised the prison view for better oggling, especially of men in dungeons. De-cluttered prison bars if a married couple is simultaneously imprisoned. Added compatibility with Rename kids mod (steam). Features: Dynamically appearing/hiding harem window Obviously includes a BIGGER character picture window. Slightly brighter, warmer, but not over-saturated portraits A bespoke tab fully devoted to your slaves, lovingly lifted from the much loved CSE 💖. Pervy Prison bars for your viewing pleasure. Icons and opinions moved slightly away from portraits for more oggling pleasure. And a fertility % amount when u hover over the heart. What this mod does is displays kinda normal until you have 4 consorts - that's any combination of concubines and secondary spouses. At that point the top line of the Family tab, becomes your harem allowing you quick access to your lovelies. The parents and grandparents window is shited to the bottom of Relationships, as I don't really need to click my (usually dead ) ancestors very much. And it won't affect the vast majority of NPC's character windows, as they never go above 3 consorts. In fact they NEVER will if you add modifier = { #ll #dbp mod add = -500 scope:actor = { number_of_concubines >= 3 } } under ai_will_do = { in character interaction ai_make_concubine_interaction = { wherever you 00_marriage_interactions is. This means the harem tab line will only ever display for you as the player Other customisation you can tweak to your liking Delete jomini_environment.txt if you don't like the brighter portraits. Delete lines 2-14 of character_window_l_english_fertility.yml to remove the fertility% from the heart. If you don't like the prison bars, please ask, you can use vanilla, but further instructions required. Lighting: (NOTE: is a touch less yellow since version 2 than this gif displays ) Fertility: Guide: After you recruit your first one: Right click your desire: Taking shape: Terrific And your ancestors relocate to the bottom of the relationships tab, where catnalitas has Slaves - we instead have a stand-alone slaves tab Nice! -------------------------------------------- Quick note: The heart hover tooltip has slightly less verbose health descriptions, but has fertility and real father. If you don't want that, just delete the loc, or, DL'd the OLD version of this mod and copy over its loc that has vanilla health descriptions & fertility, but NOT real father. -------------------------------------------- Compatability: Very doable with InMyHumbleOpion if anyone cares to ask. Bloodlines [Gui] In the GUI folder unzip, and overwrite when asked, the Bloodlines.unzip.N.overwrite.7z file. Built on top of carnalitas, so should have milk/fetishes. 2.0 Now compatible with Carnalitas Slavery Expanded, ty to dragon321 - just DELETE sm_slaves_button.gui & sm_slaves_tab.gui from THIS mod in GUI folder. Place below those mods/any that affect window_character.gui 2.1 now compatible with Rename kids mod (steam). RenFL2 Posted July 11, 2025 Posted July 11, 2025 Would you consider making a patch for RUI:Character Unofficial? I use that mod so that I can see more traits than what the default UI allows. From you pictures it looks like Vanilla behavior in that regards.
Schraubokopter Posted July 11, 2025 Posted July 11, 2025 Just one thing I miss in this UI: Scrollable traits. Anything else looks perfect, ingame.
dragon321 Posted July 15, 2025 Posted July 15, 2025 (edited) Hello! Thank you for this mod, i didn't realise that i need something like this until i tried out. One thing i found is a slight compatibility problem with Carnalitas Slavery Expansion 2.0: the "social relationship window" is not visible if this mod is active, same with the slave tab. I think i fixed the problem, i deleted the sm_slaves_button.gui and sm_slaves_tab.gui from your mod, this gave back the slave tab for me. Also when i checked the window_character.gui's of the 2 mod, i saw that 2 line is missing from your mod: on_finish = "[GetVariableSystem.Set( 'cse_show_social_relationship', 'true' )]" and on_start = "[GetVariableSystem.Clear( 'cse_show_social_relationship' )]", but they are in Carnalitas Slavery Expansion 2.0 (you can find them at the top of the whole gui file), after i added them to your mod, the "social relationship window" works again. (This was my first attempt with any gui file, so if i missed or misunderstood something. then sorry.) Edited July 15, 2025 by dragon321 1

The slaves tab is lifted from CSE, so really this mod isn't necessary if you're using CSE. I didn't really consider someone wanting this mod if they already use CSE (which I don't). I think you did amazing figuring it out! This mods my 1st attempt too If other ppl ask I'll try at adding it in too, but I don't think the user cross-over would be high. Todays Update: Slightly, tinily, reduced yellow saturation, and squeezed the central info windows a bit - stats and diplomacy. Now you can JUST click the sibling portraits without the map scrolling. But mostly this was to combat that I wasn't happy with how clipped tall characters ALL were so de-biggified the main portrait some. Turned out I'd been play-testing on midgets 😆 1

Regarding scrollable traits, I've actually tried to patch in Show More Traits (which adds a button to make traits scrollable) and it's really simple: Right after the code for "# Carnalitas fetishes", after "expand = {}", you'd import literally four lines of code from Show More Traits' window_character.gui lines 3807-3810. And you don't even need to include Show More Traits in your load order either. Btw, would you consider removing parents and grandparents from the 'Family' tab when you have a harem? They're already represented in the 'Relations' tab anyway. And maybe moving secondary spouses above concubines instead of being on the third row below the concubines and children? They're sort of more important that way... Thanks for the mod!

As for grandparents, it DOES disappear if your harem is concubines. I've never in my life played with secondary spouses, so likely I've not quite got the code right there, and difficult for me to play test, I'll bare it in mind to look at when I next have time for a big undertaking, ty for alerting me to it! Alternatively, feel free to fix n share your own version!! Any mod I make I'm happy for any1 to use as they please, without credit even Can confirm it now works with CSE provided the user deletes the 2 SM_ files as per dragon321 I've also added the 2 CSE lines you mention @dragon321 but I'm unsure what "social relationship window" is as I don't use CSE, if you could test and report back, that'd be greatly appreciated!

So that's why it looked kinda dodgy for me, I thought I've fucked it up somehow. (I barely have any clue how to mod gui though lol) It looks fine when you have either concubines or polygamy but it turns into a right mess when you have both (via the mod Harem Politics). (Btw, that thing covering the heir's portrait is from the Catholic Trinity mod that I've patched into yours but I didn't bother loading TCT in lmao) Edited July 16, 2025 by OS69

It's a sub window added by CSE, you can track your "courtesan's" with it (its a new relation adeed by CSE). I tested it and it works: 1
nytheratech Posted July 17, 2025 Posted July 17, 2025 Thank you for the update! Wanted to ask, the 'bigger on hover' functionality for the portrait on left bottom corner (when not clicked) is too big for my 1080p screen. How can I reduce it / disable the hover thing? (Which part of the code do I have to change?) If possible I want it to be as small as vanilla, since seeing the portrait big in the character menu (on click) is enough for me.

C:\Users\neilj\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings III\mod\5 Big Portrait Dynamic\gui\shared and open portraits.gui About line 1760 you'll find _mouse_enter. You want to reduce the scale from 1.5 down to 1 or whatever suits. You'll also see position = { 20 -144} #position = { 0 -100 } The #hashed (position = { 0 -100 }) is the Original, so unhash it, and hash/delete position = { 20 -144} ( FYI the numbers are X/Y coordinates, so left/right and up/down ) Do similar just below within the _mouse_leave entry and you should be golden! I can help in more depth if this brief rundown isn't sufficient Edited July 18, 2025 by Dwjliel 1

Like what? It is a character window mod, so is an alternative to (so not compatible with ) RUI , but other than that window, it shouldn't touch other UI elements. Did you have a specific issue in mind? I think I've demonstrated in this topic a willingness to add features and try my best to honour ppls requests Edited July 19, 2025 by Dwjliel 1
Dwjliel Posted July 25, 2025 Author Posted July 25, 2025 (edited) What's New in Version 2.1 2.1.3 'Hotfix'/Improvement to glow/clickable area of secondary character (spouse). +typo hotfix +descriptor. 2.1 More "body" in the main portrait. Can now see groins! Much improved prison oggling bars, especially of men, and matched for less messy screen on married couples. -It's pretty nifty! Compatability with Rename Dynasty Children - Load DBP after this. Males and females are projected slightly differently. Let me know if you find this obnoxious. Edited July 26, 2025 by Dwjliel 1

DarksideRevan Posted July 28, 2025 Posted July 28, 2025 First of all let me say excellent work @Dwjliel, it's thanks to your mod that we can enjoy a lot of QoL UI changes paired up with carnalitas mods, big thank you. I do have one issue though and maybe this is just me but with the changes in character placement, characters now either seem really tall at times and/or sometimes have their heads outside the character screen. 1

Yeah it's a balance between having as big as possible portraits and fitting them, really emphasises the surprising variety in character heights. It's just set to my preference, no magic number. And I'm constantly tweaking it. I am looking for feedback tho so other people/everyone please speak up if you like it how it is, or think they should be smaller. For anyone looking to tweak their own, go to Crusader Kings III\mod\5 Big Portrait Dynamic\gui\shared and open portraits.gui. Find line 1203 (female) and line 1244 (male) - reduce the 2nd number in size = { bracket to your preference, you may possibly want to raise the 2nd position number up too to compensate. Thanks man, I'll take a look later. I've more or less gotten used to it tbh, but might lower it a smidge, so some tall characters don't have their heads clipped at times. Btw I was messing around with spouses and concubines (at the same time) and found out you can't have more than 8 each, well you can but if you click on the UI to see them all (like when you have loads of children) it doesn't expand and instead gives you a blank screen. I'm sure it's not really a priority, but just thought you'd like to know, not sure how many play with so many spouses. 1

Thanks for the mod and thanks for this guide to changing the position. At the moment, using CBO and PA, I can't see any part of any character's face or head in their profile view because they extend off the screen. I'm going to see if I can change that a bit. If I get something that works, I'll post my results. 2

sage20500 Posted January 5 Posted January 5 (edited) is there a way to get this to play nice with this mod? If I don't have big portraits loaded at the end of my mod list the characters heads are completely cut off since the portrait pictures have them stopping at the characters necks; but the separate window that is supposed to show squires no longer shows; if I have squire load last it shows the separate window but now I can no longer see characters heads https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3611289695 1st Picture is if I have Knight GUI last, 2nd and 3rd is with Big Portrait last Edited January 5 by sage20500
