GoosePeelings Posted July 2, 2025 Posted July 2, 2025 As soon as I solved one issue another popped up. I have the AE (1170). Legal, from Steam. Everything worked fine until a couple days ago. I installed new mods and have been working to get them playing nice together. At some point I reinstalled FSMP and now it does not recognize the version. Installing it Manually from the FOMOD changes stretchy hair from going into the distance to sinking into the floor. Morder v13.txt

Suggesting that whether the manually installed version was installed or not, you still have *some* version of SMP active. You probably have another mod providing the SMP dll. Whether the hair is sinking into the floor or turning into a Bethesda hedgehog is irrelevant at this point.

I opened the game with the launcher before all of this so it's not about that, it doesn't need to redetermine the graphics settings. The only dll I have from FSMP is the one from the now manually installed mod. Nothing ever overwrote it except for the Helmet Toggle SMP Hair Fix, and this happens even after moving it above FSMP. Currently nothing's overwriting it.

That's some issue with the FOMOD config file in FSMP. The installer for FSMP 2.5.1 works for me on 1170 and MO2 v2.5.2 unfortunately. If you have mo2 version 2.5.2 like me, make sure the installer_fomod.dll plugin matches this md5 checksum: 76518d807e12c3a34424f732c67d454e installer_fomod.dll The "Fomod Installer" plugin is listed as having version 1.7.0.0 in MO2. I would ignore this issue for now, unless it shows up in every mod with a game version check. 1 hour ago, GoosePeelings said: The only dll I have from FSMP is the one from the now manually installed mod. Ah I see what you mean about stretching into the distance. Hair has a tendency to do that when FSMP is disabled yes. I read that and assumed it turned into a spike ball. So your only real issue here is that the hair sinks into the floor, and that is simply a configuration error. It could be the hair config is just wrong OOTB, or you have some other config that's messing with it. For instance, your current shoes (or feet) could contain a config that defines how your hair should move. Unfortunately debugging this in SMP is quite cumbersome: Start the game, get to a point where your hair is falling into the ground. Open the console. While the game is paused, try to identify some part of the hair that is falling freely. Like is it the sides, the back, maybe a ponytail, ... "prid 14" "inv" Make a list of all items marked as worn. Open xEdit. Inspect each ARMO record from your list. Find their associated ARMA records. Make a list of all meshes referenced in these. Open NifSkope and go through your mesh list. Find all NiStringExtraData (not NiStringsExtraData) and make a list of the xml files they reference. Open your hair mesh in Outfit Studio. Make a list of the bones it contains that are weightpainted to the areas that are falling into the ground. Go through your list of xml files in Notepad, and find the ones that reference the falling bones. You now have a list of config files that explain why your hair is falling. Edit: With the steps above, you can reduce the work required by a significant amount, if you can replicate the issue while not wearing anything. Edited July 3, 2025 by traison

I checked FSMP forum on Nexus, I saw some other people having the same problem too. There are even some fixes from players, but neither helped me, all AE versions are greyed out. I installed it manually. Edited July 3, 2025 by monsta88

I tested the game without the hdt hairs, fixed an issue with virtual memory despite having dealt with it before, and now the hairs work after manual installation. Appreciate the help though!
