Womb Raider Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 I've been getting back into skyrim and I can't seem to find these missing textures. I've looked around on the nexus and haven't found anything. it's been quite annoying, it's mainly the guards that either have pink/purple thongs or some guards appear to be missing textures for their sleeves? and they just appear black for some reason, I'm using the ADEC body at the moment. If that helps with anything Thanks!
Guest Ragna_Rok Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 textures black = usually that means that the lightning shaders were copied from another set in the niffile and after that havent been set up right, could maybe also be a body issue, with my weapons black means i fucked up the bslightningshaderproperties. maybe also that the chest-part of the body (the skin i mean) is taken from another body-mod. pink... hm. looks like the textures arent linked the right way in the nif. look for the lightning shader properties in the nif and ensure that it targets the right dds. this is a mistake that happens when a modder forgets to change the texture path before uploading his mod. because not every gamer installs skyrim where you do. the fix for you is to link it right in the nif-files, the fix for the modder is to cut the path down in the properties so that it starts with "textures/..." edit: in the armor there sould be two ni-tri-shapes. one with the skin, the rest with the metal pieces. correct the shader link for the skin, should do it. you find the right link in any regular armor nif-file.

Really appreciate the feedback man, however, I happen to be the worlds biggest n00b in terms of using and fixing things in nifscope. I did install my game to my (E:) drive so that probably confirms your hypothesis with the paths being wrong. For body mods I'm using SOS for males and I'm using the Manga variation of ADEC for females. EDIT: stuck here.
Guest Ragna_Rok Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 just noticed something... you should always follow your own topics, so that you notice when you have new replies *takes a look* ... first, best of all, make a backup of the nif-files, or in case you still have the mod downloaded thats not necessary. on your second screen you see the paths of the textures used. lets go for the pink armor thingy for now. when you open the armor in nifskope, (looks like he split up the trishape to several parts... baaaaad boy. anyway...) click on the part that shows up pink. this selects the right trishape. then, as stated above, open its branches (from THIS SPECIFIC TRISHAPE, the pink one), open the bslightningshaderproperties, and then open the shadertextureset, like you did on your second screenshot. you see there the textures that are linked ... this basically tells the nif-file what data to wrap around the mesh. i would bet that the part that shows up in pink has a typo in this path... again, since the armor seems to consist of several pieces, only check the texture paths from the part that shows up in pink, the rest seems to work in game. for a noob step by step: you click on the piece of the armor showing up in pink. now you open this trishape branch to go to the shadertextureset. when you have the view from your second screenshot (you have the shadertextureset open there), doubleclick on the small .. uhm... flower (i guess its a flower, that round pink-purple-thingy just before the path of the texture) ... now try to find the file that its supposed to link (the name, last part of the link) on your harddisk. do that for all lines / entries that are not blank, though the first line / entry is usually most important. once you have done this, save the niffile (overwrite, dont forget your backup), and check in game. tell me if this worked, i will check back here later.
