31971207 Posted June 16, 2025 Posted June 16, 2025 Gun animation in Skyrim is now pretty decent so I am wondering how easy it is to replace mesh/texture of a Skyrim gun mod with one from Starfield mods? I want to do a sci-fi character run in Skyrim but the one sci-fi Skyrim gun mod I have is pretty lacking in details. Are there tutorials of object mesh/textures Starfield->Skyrim?
FauxFurry Posted June 19, 2025 Posted June 19, 2025 You can make a mod with weapons which vaguely resemble Starfield guns but BGS has a term in their TOS that forbids using the meshes from one of their games in another one of them in a mod. Even original meshes that are too close in appearance are a no-go, really (that is why a lot of Fallout inspired mods were pulled from the Nexus). The Creation Club content for Fallout 4 should have made it clear why that is. You could use a mod with sci-fi guns in it like DAR Rifles at least until you make your own vaguely similar but still legally distinct weapons models.
FauxFurry Posted June 19, 2025 Posted June 19, 2025 If you just want to replace a gun model with one from a mod for Starfield (which can be presumed to be the original creation of the modder from top to bottom), the first thing that you have to do is know the name of the mesh and texture sets being replaced. There are tutorials for weapon remeshes on Youtube.
