0101010101010101 Posted June 11, 2025 Posted June 11, 2025 Best I can see it's an SGhair from files but I can't find a SE hair pack with this file

I would try the mod author or if your sure it is an SG hair try them. Best of Luck.

Since there isn't just one "overhaul mod" for Serana -> please link the source on Nexus where you got it from. 1
traison Posted June 11, 2025 Posted June 11, 2025 A hint could be gained from inspecting the facegen mesh in NifSkope. The hair mesh name gets transfered to the hair in the facegen mesh. This name may hint at the pack it belongs to, or help others locate it. 1

My comment had nothing to do with plugin master references. As an example, an NPC I made for myself long ago has a facegen mesh with a BSDynamicTriShape named "0Runaway". Giving this name to my string search utility will reveal which pack it most likely came from. Obviously if the OP doesn't have the original hair pack installed, that's not going to be helpful, but: With the hair name, I can do the search here, in case its in one of the hair packs I have installed. If the hair is conveniently named something like "KS Runaway", one might guess it's from KS Hairdos. Edited June 11, 2025 by traison

Not sure if the mod author is even active anymore unfortunately since the mod is quite old. Thanks! 1

Even the oldrim one. Perhaps this is one that never got ported to SE if it's from SGhairs.

I checked in the filepath \textures\actors\character\Serana\hair\hairpgapril12.dds. I'm bit of green when it comes to modding tools so I can try nifscope maybe. The files in pack said it was sghairs. I vaguely remember having this hair when I had oldrim. For some reason, I thought it was KS hairs and then went through Apaichi and nothing lol. It might have been from the 268... but it's so long ago. Edited June 11, 2025 by 0101010101010101
I've already looked at these "overhauls." As other users have already described, mod authors either use another mod as a source (in the form of a "master") or directly (in consultation with the author) adopt the relevant "assets"... sometimes these are even custom-made versions that aren't included in the freely available mods. Or in the other case (as you yourself already wrote), the hairstyle comes from an older mod package but is no longer included in the packages available for free today. If you install 4-5 mod packages for hair, you quickly have more than 1,500 hairstyles for women. 1
traison Posted June 11, 2025 Posted June 11, 2025 Ran a search through all mods currently installed (enabled and disabled) and there's no mention of "pgapril" in any of them. So, it's not in any of these hair mods: KS Hairdos SMP-31300-1-4-3-1596895272 KS Hairdos SSE-6817-1-8-1621841731 [Dint999] BDOR Hairs SSE 0.8 [Dint999] HairPack02 SSE 1.10 (base) [Dint999] HairPack02 SSE 1.11 (base) Great Moder's Hair package and Xing All in One-31405-1-22-1633239718 Vanilla hair remake-63979-1-0-2-1715806292 Vanilla hair remake SMP-63979-1-0-3-1718064273 I'll do another search when we have the mesh name from the facegen data, unless it happens to be the same as the texture.

That's why you can't find it anywhere officially. A lot of hair styles in it were outright bundled in and distributed without permission and the original authors were neither asked nor given credit. Stuff is not from SG Hair. If anything, SG Hair had things from other mods. A prime example of mod piracy. Doesn't help that it was distributed so widely that now a a lot of people think it is a legitimate mod. Edited June 12, 2025 by belegost

Yes that's so much hair to go through but It's not huge deal though. I will continue my search! Thanks.

I appreciate you! Thanks for effort. Sorry late reply as I got a bit busy last few days. Someone mentioned SG 350 on discord. Not sure if there's a SE version as the one found say LE.

Makes sense why a lot of the links get taken down. I think I remember controversy with sim hairs being packed into them.
