Devious Device Footprints - Addon

This is an addon for the Footprints mods that adds matching footprints to certain footwear in various mods! This currently only adds footprints to the Ballet boots and hooves to the Pony Boots.

 

**Currently looking for someone to make custom textures for more footprint and to fix the limitations of this mod**

 

Requirements and Load Order

 

*REQUIRES NEW GAME* They will not appear unless you start a new game!

 

The Following are ALL required for full functionality

 

  1. Footprints
  2. SPID for Footprints
  3. Ultimate fix - SPID for Footprints
  4. Footprints - heels addon
  5. Keyword Item Distributor (KID)

 

Recommended Mods

 

 

Currently Supported Mods

 

  • Devious Devices
  • SLUTS
  • Predator Pony Girl
  • Meloria Ballet Boots

 

Known issues

 

Pony boots may not work properly while player is strafing left or right.

 

Footprints may stop working if the keywords for both the Heels addon and the Pony / Ballet boots are present on the same Armor.

having the same issue will be disabling the mod till a fix is given

 

Edit: Nvm i think i know what happened i had 2 different SPID files and i am gonna see if that was the issue if you download it the install is a bit misleading because the Ultimate fix is a required file but the SPID for footprints is not the 2 files have the same structures

 

Edit:2 fixed the texture thing but am not unable to get the hoof boot to show up

How did you fix the texture issue? My setup is also showing both the barefoot footprint and hoof print with pony boots.

 

With the release of DDNG 4+, the KID file needed to be rewritten since the items use the rendered editor ID instead of the inventory name for the heels. I went through and added keyword paths for all the new devices added by DDNG. Tested in game and got great results. Only issue I have is that the Pony boots, no matter which version, while leaving prints, do so with a barefoot print underneath. So, I'm getting double prints, almost like it is applying 2 separate magic effects. (See screenshot) Any ideas on how to solve that issue? I have all the requirements and use Community Shaders for the lighting overhaul.

 

I also attached my updated Devious_Footprints_KID.ini, if others would benefit from it. It includes the footwear from DDNG, and Unforgiving Devices. I may have missed some, as they don't use a simple wild card expression to find them like previous.

Thanks, can I include this in the next update? I already have a fix for the double footprints. Try this in a clean save and let me know if it works.

Works great in game! Also, I realized I missed one entry for the pony play boots. Add this to the KID file:

Keyword = 0x000846~Devious_Footprints.esp|Armor|*PonyBoots_play_Rendered

this has been updated just now so i assume this should work fine now? shouldnt be any missing textures or anything cause i did wanna use this but couldnt before cause it wasnt working right for me wasnt using the right footprints and stuff

It should work if you have everything installed properly and only use the mods listed in the requirements. Test it in a new save. Sorry I never replied to your message.

so i am getting doubled up sounds not sure why (edit: when i say doubled sounds i mean it is almost like a echo'd sound after i stop moving i am not sure why either i think its something with the patch files from one of the mods maybe something with the ini changes to ultimate fix but i am unsure)

This mod does not modify footstep sounds, verify that everything is up to date.

everything was yes i checked it all even disabled other addon mods you recommended to test i spent a good hour trying to diagnose it after removing the mod it went away so something out of those mods was modifying it the only thing i can think of is it was something with the patches or addon mods causing the sound script to fire twice

There's a new mod that replaces Footprints with a DLL, which avoids using SPID and scripts.
Will there ever be an update to your mod to use it?

Edit: 

a new mod dll has just been released and looks good too, without having to recompile the dll. Maybe simpler to configure for adding footrprints :)

I just want to second what alain31 mentioned. The new mod Dynamic Footprints Skse should perform a lot better so it would be great if we could have this ported over to work with it so we arent stuck using the old foosteps mod. Thanks!

I am working on a Trails version. I have got the pony boots working and I am continuing development.

 

Dynamic Footprints skse version doesn't seem possible because everything is done internally inside the DLL . Trails relies on a json file to link the foot prints for each actor and allows unlimited modification. Also DFS does not have open permissions while Trails does.

In addition, you don't need to start the new game if you already have the Foodprints mod installed—all you need to do is
