City of Heroes is Back! Powered by Thunderspy!

Hello all,

I'm trying to raise awareness that an old game called City of Heroes is back and its powered by a group called Thunderspy. This group has really brought City of Heroes to the next level with so many improvements and made it worth playing again. My goal by posting here is not only to bring some of the older players back, but perhaps raise a whole new generation of players for the original superhero game. Thunderspy is also looking for the next generation of developers to help keep the game going. I'm going to post some links below, I hope to see you either in the discord group and/or the game.

How hush hush do you have to be about erp, or is it easy to find likeminded people?

Yeah... no. From the way thunderspy folk act on CoH subreddit im under serious impression that that place is a toxic ceespol run by manchildren. 

 

Also i find it somewhat amusing that not so long ago there was a thunderspy GM that literally tried to bribe people to join server by offering them lvl 50 character and lots of in game money on CoH subreddit (it didnt work)... and now there is a thunderspy recrutement on a porn site 🤣

Thunderspy is a dead/dying server, with some interesting tweaks to the game, but seeing how it (from what I've been able to dig up at least) originated from 4chan, the playerbase of it is of rather mixed opinions and personalities. Homecoming is alive and well, and has official permission to run from the IP owners. ERP is allowed, just keep it our of public places and ideally in Team or PMs. Feel free to tease or innuendo when out and about, but keep it sane. Proper grammar, a passable bio, and being more than level 2 or so will greatly increase chances of engagement for RP. Standing around doing nothing is also unlikely to get people to talk to you. Either start up a conversation yourself with another lurker, or (politely) slip into a conversation after getting a feel what it's about and get to know people.

Really good question. Each group of servers have their own advantages, Rebirth closest to the original game, HC has population, New Dawn has many OP power sets for solo play. Thunderspy has become the most advanced server at its core, the source code. Senpai, Orange Blue Hue and others have made new graphics, new textures, updated much of the code to flow better including but not limited to, enhanced sliders, Fully customizable pets, Defenders with melee skills. 

Is there something specific you are looking for, I can tell you how they compare to other servers.

Realized I did not answer the ERP question. Currently it's like any other server, as long as you keep it in some sort of private chat, including teams (assuming its the two of you) then you are totally fine. Some would say Thunderspy is more lenient those most, hence a lot of the hate they recieve. 

I'm not going to lie, population is their largest struggle, hence my opening post. So finding like minded people initially could be hard, but as the community grows again it will become easier. I would encourage you to at least join the discord group, visit for a bit, see how well you mesh with others. I would love to see you over there.

Hello MrMojorisin,

Thunderspy does not have any nude skins though people often will wear "tights" the same color as their skin to mimic that. The official stance is "you can RP what you want." Obviously there are ristrictions on under aged characters, nazi emblems, the usual "no's"
