tygra91 Posted February 12, 2025 Posted February 12, 2025 I've updated the game and the Wicked Whims mod several times, and I'm still getting the issue where I can't reload the game without losing the entire kitchen layout etc if I load it with WW in the Mods folder. Does anyone have a fix for this?
Guest Posted February 13, 2025 Posted February 13, 2025 After updating WW, did you delete your cache? If you don't clear your cache any time you install a new mod, update a mod, or uninstall a mod, it can cause issues. Specifically, you should regularly delete the following (all in your "The Sims 4" folder, where you "Mods" folder is): the folder named "cachestr" the folder named "onlinethumbnailcache" the file "avatarcache.package" the file "houseDescription-client.package" the file "localthumbcache.package" I'm pretty sure it's the localthumbcache.package one that causes most issues, but it's good to clear out all the cache regularly anyway.
RoRo9261 Posted February 13, 2025 Posted February 13, 2025 (edited) Il y a 4 heures, FutureGhost3888 a déclaré: Après avoir mis à jour WW, avez-vous supprimé votre cache? What does this tool do? This script deletes the following data: onlinethumbnailcache (folder and all files) cachestr (folder and all files) localthumbcache.package (file) houseDescription-client.package (file) avatarcache.package (file) lastCrash.txt (all files) lastException.txt (all files) lastUIException.txt (all files) BE-ExceptionReport.html (all files) BE-UIExceptionReport.html (all files) WickedWhimsInfoLog.log (file) WonderfulWhimsInfoLog.log (file) Files are not deleted automatically (because sometimes you need them, for example, to send logs to mod authors) - to clean them you need to double-click the script once. No other files will be deleted - not from the Mods folder, not from the Saves folder or any other. All your data is safe! I have added a check to the script to make sure the user running it has admin rights, if not, it will automatically restart under admin rights (asking for permission to do so). I don't know if this will solve the problem some users have reported (that the script doesn't do anything). Please let me know. How to use this script This is not a mod, but a self-executable batch script. You should not copy this *.bat file into the mod folder, but directly into your The Sims 4 folder (where you see the "Mods", "Saves" and "Tray" folders). Double-clicking the script will execute it and all the folders and files listed above will be deleted from your computer. You can read more about what files will be deleted here. Why you need to delete cache and user files, read here. If you are afraid to run this script, you can make sure that it only deletes the listed files by opening this script in any text editor and looking at the list of files to delete in the commands. If you have any other logs or temporary files that should be added to the script, please let me know, and I'll update it right away. Feel free to send me the details, and I'll make the necessary adjustments promptly. Edited February 13, 2025 by roro9261

Husk Posted February 14, 2025 Posted February 14, 2025 Do you have Basemental mods installed by any chance? If you do - make sure to update those as it sounds like the issue that happens when they're outdated.
