Issue with Guards chasing me, even though I have no bounty? Can't interact with them in anyway

Heya! I'm very new to modded skyrim and still figure it all out. But I've suddenly started encounting an issue where guards will run up to me as if I have a bounty (i definitely dont i checked and not doing anything the break the Licesnse laws ive set with Sexlab Adventures) and say the general 'guard comments' from Sexlab Survival. or Vanilla chase lines like 'come back here'. But I can't actually interact with them. It forces a dialogue window to open up, that has the 'please help me' line that every NPC has (i forget which mod adds that) and two ... options.

 

Clicking either of the ... options will just play the lines. Of 'come back here women' or 'a long time in prison with straight you out' or words to those effects. And nothing changes.

 

Pressing Tab to leave the dialogue will close it but it will just force open again. And if I run they chase after me, they never do anything though just this dialogue. The only way to stop it is to console command kill the guard (disable doesn't work) or reloading the save but both are only temporary fixes as 10 mins later or so another guard will do it again. So unless I kill every single guard 😂 not sure how to fix it.

 

So far as I can tell this ONLY happens in holds. Not outside.

 

I thought it could be Public Whore and the guards trying to force start that but after looking at those settings and turning that off, no change. And after looking at Sexlab Survival I think, I turned off 'guard comments' but again no help.

 

Anyone come across this before or something like it and know which mods could be causing the issue?

Just a possibility, but it might not be related to crime.  If you're using an approach mod that causes NPCs to run up to your character to ask for sex, guards might not have any valid dialog for that mod because they're generic characters.  They can't complete their scene, so they keep trying to talk to you again.  If you have a mod like that, look over the settings and see if you can exclude guards.

I had a similar bug, I think its some tick box for crime checks within a hold

I forget which specific mod it was, I think its some weird clash between prison overhaul & naked defeat, it could be PW or survival though. All I know is that there's some mod conflict caused by a specific tick box (You'll have to load a save before it happens, untick, then get back to your original place tho)

I've narrowed it down to Survival causing the issue. When I disable Licenses it stops. So it's something with those conflicting with another mod I think as someone suggested. Just trying to pin point what other mod could be causing that clash

SLS has a number of rules and you're breaking them. Can't wear armour, clothes, weapons or walk around enescorted after dark without buying the licence. Buy a licence woman or face the consequences!

 

Sexlab Adventures and SLS have two distinct licencing systems. Buying licence in one, doesn't magically grant you a licence in the other. They work independently of each other.

Can't recall how SA system works, but what you described in your OP is how SLS works and it works as intended.

I've tailored the crime options on SLS as I wanted and definitely wasn't breaking any of the laws I had set. Thats the first thing I checked in case I had a stray piece of armour on under something else, but alas no.

 

and I had all the correct licences I needed in that moment, I think I was missing a magic licence but I again checked, and I had no magic items that should have set that off. I had started the save with curfews and being out side at night being a crime off. and then decided to turn those two on. So i think the guards were getting confused in a curfew loop and trying to take me back to an inn, even though it was out of curfew hours? 

 

either way I decided to go for a clean save, and start again, its going fine so far, so not sure what caused the issue!

This is not how this licence works. It forbids you from casting any magic. Guards will equip you with a collar that drains all your mana if you don't have a licence. Doesn't matter whether you are able to cast magic otherwise or not or even if had casted any magic at any point. No ifs, ands or buts. Items, magic or not, are not even considered by this licence. They fall into two other categories.

Some enchanted items do count as 'magic' under the licence like, I had Knapsacks/back packs added from one mod for added carrying weight that the guards always steal if I forget I don't have the magic license and then I have too much shit to carry lol. 

 

I think that save I was playing with no collars option, so I just had the 'drain tattoo' however I could be wrong, I might have been without the collar and that could have triggered it. Still odd that the guards didn't actually DO anything. They just stood their and kept trying to interact with my PC, but nothing was actually triggering.

had this same problem. happened when i turned on bikini license, seems like the dialogue for inspection got bugged. they left me alone after i turned it off again, but wish there was a fix
