deathtome1998 Posted February 2, 2025 Posted February 2, 2025 so I'm looking at making myself some LOTD fate card retextures, but the textures for the cards seem to be packed into a BSA now instead of loose. so I need to extract them, then retexture them, then figure out how to remake the BSA and shove it back into place in MO2. if someone with a lot more knowledge than me on this could give me step by step instructions, I'd be grateful. I included the screenshot of this other post for some relevant, (I think) information.Â

traison Posted February 2, 2025 Posted February 2, 2025 Create a new directory in the MO2 mods\ folder. Match the directory structure of the BSA: some_archive.bsa\Path\To\My\Texture.dds \Path\To\My\Texture.dds Lose files always override those in BSA archives. Refresh the mod list in MO2. Sort and enable your mod. Â

It will overwrite whatever is in BSA. Â EDIT: The BSA Extractor I linked will actually extract the files you need with the correct paths. Edit them as you see fit while they're inside those folders, then do what I said above. Done. Edited February 3, 2025 by belegost
deathtome1998 Posted February 3, 2025 Author Posted February 3, 2025 thanks for the replies, that should have described things hopefully.
danna233 Posted February 4, 2025 Posted February 4, 2025 The BSA archiver is in the Creation Kit. It may not be that easy to pack the files back. But you can leave them in a free state. Unpacked files have priority over those packed in BSA, so you can leave old maps in BSA and add your own, but not packed, they will overlap the old ones. This is how all Skyrim retexture is done. The original Skyrim is in BSA, all the retexture goes as free files and overlaps the packed original.
