Issues getting creature animations to work

Recommended Posts

I've been working on my own modlist and have got everything working with human animations and interactions via OStim, but have now been working on getting creatures working via SexLab. I am using Acheron, Practical Defeat and Yamete Kudasai to handle this, along with the creature framework and animations.

The problem I'm having right now is that the animations just won't start. For example in my current testing, I get knocked down by the giant, the screen fades to black and transitions, then the scene starts but the animation isn't playing. I'm still on the ground and able to crawl around, and the giant is just stood there like a statue with his arm in the air.

I've tried switching to Pandora, that hasn't fixed it. I can see in the log which animation it's supposed to be playing at that time, but it just isn't actually happening. I had a look at the Papyrus log, and uh, it looks like it might be a bit of a mess. I'm not sure as I'm very new to modding on my own.

My papyrus log from that session is here - https://pastebin.com/29sm720W

Thank you!

5. make sure you have "Allow Creature Animation" checked in SexLab's MCM settings.

6. turn off "Match Creature Gender" in sexlab's MCM settings, if this setting is enabled some animations won't play.

7. did you forget to install the FNIS Creature Pack? install it and rerun the GenerateFNISforUsers.exe, then do steps 5 & 8
NOTE1: if you do have the Creature Pack but some creatures are just playing idle animations during sex or not moving try clicking on "De-Install Creatures" in FNIS, after it's done running click on "Update FNIS Behavior"
(doing this will delete all the creature behavior files generated by FNIS and remake new ones...that is assuming you DO have the FNIS Creature Pack installed)

NOTE2: try turning on the "hkx file compatibly check" in FNIS to see if you installed the wrong version/s of any animation packs.

8. you may need to reload the animations, go to the Animation Loader's MCM and then:
8.1. click on the "Disable All" button.
8.2. click on "Rebuild Animation Registry", then Wait for the message to pop up*.
8.3. click on "Reload JSON".
8.4. click on "Enable All".
8.5. click on "Count Animations" and make sure nothing is over 1000 (the stock SexLab v1.65 animation limit), turn off some animations if they are.
8.6. click on "Register Animations", then Wait for the message to pop up*.
*if you like you can press "~" on your keyboard to open the console so you can watch it Register everything, just make sure you close it before you try to click on anything.

and make sure your not running LE animations in a SE/AE game.

Thank you! It turns out I had a Sexlab to Ostim mod left in there that seemed to be interfering, I thought checking the box that told it to ignore creatures would be enough but obviously not, combination of disabling that and running step 5 again from your post and it's all working now.
