Und anscheinend ist Todd, trotz all der Scheiße, die er bekommt, der Typ, der alles zusammen hat, je weniger Kontrolle er hat, desto mehr Probleme treten auf xD

Why did this person even get into this position?

Well - it's my opinion - he has one thing above all -> a talent for selling "every piece of crap as gold".

For me he is a gifted storyteller... who both my wife and I have regularly fallen for.

We have both been involved since "morrowind" - at that time we didn't even know each other. Our first gaming experiences together included "Fallout 3" and "Oblivion" ... those were also the first games we modified together (very extensively)!

But the more Todd H. stepped into the "spotlight" - the worse the games became.

The break for us was with "TES-Online" ... yes, it is a game from "zenimax" - but who made it attractive to potential buyers?

For us, Todd H. is the one who made the official announcements about the game... he was the "face" of the software company from which we had purchased the game.

From "Fallout 76" onwards, neither of us were involved - my wife played it 1-2 times for a few days to test it out... and "put it in the corner" in frustration.

The fact that his other qualities are not very good can be seen in the very poor products.

To the outside world, he is the face of this software company - from this he apparently (or very obviously) derives a right to control and determine everything down to the smallest detail... a kind of "centralism".

Typical for such constellations -> he is incapable AND unwilling to delegate work (and responsibility) to capable employees... assuming that there are still capable employees left in the company - and were not driven out because of the "working atmosphere" that prevails there!

Ultimately, something like this can no longer be reformed "internally" - the only solution is to completely dissolve this game studio and pass on the "licenses" (copyrights) of the game series ("TES" - "Fallout") either to a new company or to companies that have already successfully dealt with this "material" (such as "Obsidian" -> "Fallout New Vegas")

The team size increase is probably the biggest factor. Also Microsoft... The things happening with paid creations in Starfield is a new level of cynicism. It's disgusting. It it obviously coincides with the influx of casual players via Microsoft who are willing to buy 15-minute CK mods or pay to have achievements enabled...

Todd is a business man, a game designer, and a leader. He's an entrepreneur. But now he has people clearly above him on the business side. I personally refuse to believe Todd could be this cynical - or stupid. He would be destroying his own legacy and reputation... That is what I'm basing my assertion on. Todd does have something to lose from all this unless he is truly soulless. The corporate investors are faceless, probably don't even play games and couldn't possibly care any less about our sentimental attachment to Bethesda or our mod scene.

This is also my opinion, so I suggest you watch this video as well.
