[Search] [Idea] [Request] Monocles and other eyewear... with a side of horny Dwemer researcher

This post is primarily about finding monocles and other classy eyewear, but I couldn't let go of the Dwemer researcher bit.

 

On a whim, I did a cursory search for "monocle" here and on the nexus and practically nothing came up. I would be pretty surprised if there were *no* monocle mods, but I reckon they're buried in an accessory pack that doesn't mention them. Other more unusual eyewear, like opera glasses (pretty unlikely to already exist, as you'd need a pose to go along with it to make sense) or glasses that have no temples and stay on by pinching the bridge of the nose would be cool as well.

If someone were to feel like making them to fill the hole in the market, a plausible route is mage researcher. Aiming it at non-magical Skyrim nobility/tradesmen (jewelers especially, alchemists, bookworms) is a another option.

The idea that really got me to make this post and bug other people was getting a good outfit for Sorine Jurard (the Dawnguard Dwemer researcher and enthusiast who can't walk 10 feet towards a creek to find her damn gyros). There's the tasteful Dwemer researcher mashup outfit by Xtudo ( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/58180 ) on one end, and the Dwarven Devious cuirass ( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/109121 ) on the other end. I'm not sure that there's an in-between. I could assemble one myself in game with some TAWOBA items and whatever else I find my load order, but that takes away the fun of shoving another mod into my game.

 

Outfit

Something like Deze's alchemist and blacksmith aprons ( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/50446 ) or IcyRelief's blacksmith ( https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/113213 ) just with dwemer parts instead of alchemy supplies could work. A "Large Dwemer Plate Metal" (from the sphere automatons, has the rectangle slot cut into it) on the butt would add uniqueness to the outfit... and cover the goods... and could be annoying to get to work with bodyslide, you'd probably want it to not be deformed by moving sliders but then you have to figure out how to reduce clipping due to the wide variety of ass volume in different presets. Fastening it to the body with a belt, then adding a custom slider for the angle at which it dangles seems possible (I have no idea about the internals of bodyslide, roast me as necessary). A much easier way to get something similar would be to use a "Bent Dwemer Scrap Metal" on each cheek, deforming wouldn't look as bad on that. Actually, the poly count on those is probably low, but then it isn't even about deforming, it would look bad just in general. Of course, both of those ideas could also apply to the breasts (seeing cleavage through the Plate Metal slot would be fun). "Large Dwemer Strut", "Large Decorative Dwemer Strut", and "Dwemer Scrap Metal" (the unsmeltable one) could function as highlights after being shrunk down. The "Dwemer Scrap Metal" screams high heels to me, so I'll move on to accessories.

 

Accessories

A monocle wouldn't be amiss, a clunky telescoping one (or goggles that rest on the forehead) might be more in character, while a large circular glass lens would be cuter with more mashup appeal. High heels with the shrunk "Dwemer scrap Metal" as the the heel would look good. Soul gems in some sort of dwemer containment unit would help sell it, but that might get bulky. A wearable book that uses the texture for Dwarves, v [1,2,3] could be fun, most other wearable books are ambiguous (which means I could just use one of those if I really wanted to do this). Using a "Dwemer cog" as a bracelet or collar seems easy enough (maybe not the collar). They could also work as earrings, or you could start using Aetherium stuff now that we're doing tiny things. A miniature Dwemer Spider naval piercing could look good, Dwarven Shield nipple covers could be funny... I think that's all I've got.

Thanks, I'll consider it. I did find one of the eyewear I mentioned: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/120188 glasses that hold on by pinching the bridge of the nose. They even look lore friendly, unlike a lot of the other eyewear that has a modern feel to it.
