At least that would be an acceptable explanation for this junk – which was sold to us players as the Institute. Except for the "Biological Department," all the others are just too tiny. Officially, no one from this company would ever admit that.  For me personally, the department was responsible for the creation of the Biological Synths – which had nothing to do with the rest of the game. Yes, of course – a great animation – visually very impressive – a nice precursor to the TV series "Westworld" (the creation of the "Hubs").  On my second playthrough, I asked myself the question: "If a Gen 3 synth rolls off the production line every few minutes – where do they all go after they're produced? – And if the Institute can't expand due to acute energy problems – what do these workers do... and what do they feed themselves on?"  Of course, because of this animation – which is very reminiscent of films like "Terminator" – all discussions about the nature of 3.0 synths are bound to go in the wrong direction. Oh man – what heated discussions, sometimes with many nasty words... precisely because you only see this type of production – and therefore don't question why so many other things (that you learn in the game) don't fit in at all.  The player – who doesn't want to act for the Institute anyway – can be indifferent to anything... I, on the other hand – oh well, never mind.

I, on the other hand – oh well, never mind. It is worth remembering that fo4 was a Mid-range PC game. At that time, a budget build included a video card with 2 gigabytes of video memory, and 4 to 8 gigabytes of RAM. The most popular system was Win7. There were no SSD drives. The processor, which today can be bought for ~$5 on used markets, was a superprocessor. On ultras, uGridsToLoad = 5 was recommended. As if... For those times, the Institute was ok.If the Institute were built today, I'm sure it would be less optimized, and 5-7 times larger. Yes, there are engine limitations, but it's still capable of pulling ~300 million polygons per scene. That means the level of detail would be about the same as Starfield. Honestly, the synth fabricator, which looked very good in 15, is not impressive today. Also in the game for a long time with all these useless updates no useful things were added... For example full support of ssd. Until now the difference in loading the level with ssd and hdd is not significant... Not a single error was fixed. For example, in ce there are mirrors, but they do not work correctly. xyz are mixed up, and the mirrors reflect your back of the head.Actually... The game has already taken off and paid off well. No need to waste energy. The plot also kind of went. The lack of logic was compensated by new mechanics, like bsConnectPoint's with the workshop. fo4 is not a game about the plot. It is a modding sandbox with many mechanics and official developer tools. We have a full package of plugins for 3ds 2013-2014, hct2014, many great custom tools like niftools, nifscope, os, and there is ck. Only indie projects on engines like ue or unity have greater creative potential. Every creative person can assemble his own Institute. 1
