you can download the barefoot setup on https://www.patreon.com/animatedtiddy included in my $2 tier. tbh I'm very much focused on making futa mods for wuthering waves right now. I am currently also working on implementing runtime mesh loading without relying on 3dmigoto either as an unreal engine specific thing or by implementing 3dmigoto features in reshade. either way it wont be easy and I cant promise I'll succeed but it seems the most probable way of handling it and tbh this game could be around for years

 

the barefoot thing is just a simple reshade addon to hide a shader although you do also get some support injecting into the game. will probably just post it here later if I remember, its moreso withheld because I lack time to provide support to a public forum than some money grubbing reason. but as far as progress goes this one is kind of a dead end until I can create meshes. however if there are skin tight outfits retextures are possible

We need more futa mods in games (no balls) so you're doing god's work 🙏

For skin tight outfits, i am currently running around with the Top "Endless Power/Twinkling Lights" and Bottom "Colorful Scales/Moonlit Well" of the frog electrician event outfit (Froggy Fashion) but of course those are from an event outfit that is no longer possible to get. Before I got those I was wearing Top "Quick Warm-up" and Bottom "Swift Leap" but they're not as tight. There's one Top tho "Crybaby Vest" that looks it's a basketball jersey with a sarashi underneath, but cant really take a good close look.

Also I'm curious what do you think about the Special K tool. I only came across it when trying to mod MTG Arena but it looks like it can only do 2D textures like UI and stuff? i havent even tested if the game even allows it to run to begin with. Also I have never seen anyone else mention Special K to make mods about games so i was hoping it is a hidden gem than can help a bit.

Alright, looks like a Genshin style game. Hmm. From the videos, I am not certain that they are using the same engine. So that might affect things.

 

But they are also using ACE, so it certainly seems like a viable starting point.

Hello animatedtiddy, you've mentioned that retexturing is possible. Could you please share how? I've managed to replicate your barefoot mod but i cannot for the love of me figure out how to do the retexturing that you mention is possible. I've tried both ReShade and Special K but none of them seem to do the trick, mostly because it's a D3D12 game. I would really appreciate it if you could share how you've managed to make it possible ❤️

special k can only do texture replacement and even then only in d3d11 games. in fact genshin modders started with specialk and quickly abandoned it for 3dmigoto (which is stupid tbh, specialk is amazing for analysis, using both is better)

specialk can only do texture mods in d3d11 as stated. ReShade should be capable using the addons from the github repo but binaries aren't provided and they're not very feature rich. I just tested and I got a bunch of textures dumped but don't actually see any for nikki so idk maybe reshade cant without more direction. idk not really worth pursuing anyway. Renodx is a rshade addon starting to get d3d12 support that has many desirable 3dmigoto like features but its not anywhere near what we'd need yet

 

Anyway I've generated an SDK for the game here's some fun stuff with the console enabled through UEVR (I can make it independent of VR but its convenient. should be able to do ue4ss as well)

There are many developer features I'd like to tap into by calling through code for editing cloth and such, not sure how much will work runtime

I've also been working on exploring the game in IDA to maybe patch some functions for loose asset loading. However I don't have experience doing it, only know vaguely how its done and they are also doing some extra verification beyond what other unreal games do. I have a pak bypass project for wuwa I can easily make work for this if I choose a function to hook, I'm not sure which function would be best, probably needs to be several for this game and may be complicated by their runtime hotpatches. Furthermore, I don't actually have much experience making pak mods. I know the process and have done it a couple times but there's so many ways it can go wrong all I can really test to start with is if the game closes or not with an edited pak file. Tbh I'd rather work on a universal solution more directly in the engine's renderer, possibly using assimp, directx toolkit, or a custom solution to load vertex buffers and index buffers from file or memory like 3dmigoto, so I've been reading a lot of engine code to this end. I'm probably gonna do wuwa dx12 first if anything, it really just comes down to whether the engine has the property access I need in the sdk in a way I can reasonably retrieve. I think this could work across multiple games and engine versions. If not I may work on improving the pak tools we have so that I can just package a model without having to actually open unreal engine with the specific game version

 

I am still down to try patching for pak files but it is getting tough just balancing all the work needed to code, model, research, and package for multiple game. If anyone has skills and experience and wants to help you can reach out. I can't pay you yet but there's certainly money to be made from the work I'm doing, in fact the demand far exceeds my ability to supply rn. I can probably handle most programming aspects so probably most helpful would be a modeler and/or someone with experience making pak mods for unreal. However you must be very experienced and capable. I don't have time to teach someone else while still learning things. Once we have a framework going then I'll think about opening it up a bit

Ayo!!! That's some nice progress! I'm glad you didnt abandon the game 'cause i haven't seen you post any updates on it 😅 Also i used the ReShade texture dump and texture replacer template addons and i Did get some skin textures and for the outfit i tried to edit (the only skintight outfit i've seen) but could not get the replacer addon to work... also i have literally 0 knowledge on how to take the templates and make my own addons 😬

So far i've been "enjoying" my time with the shader toggler addon. there's some outfits that show a bit more skin or her silhouette because you need to equip a pantyhose to i guess render up to her asscheecks. Basically the most amount i've managed to "uncover" is about halfway down the boobs and for the bottom everything that wouldnt cover the parts that a "modest underwear" covers. Also there is 1 dress (the gliding one) that does have the full model, but the texture on thighs and up is pure black with no shadows so you cant distinguish anything. /rant

P.S. dont pay too much attention to the naysayers 🤣 I believe in you no matter how long it takes you. This game just came out and its going to be around for A WHILE

These games are similar in their monetization and distribution methods. They are built on the same engines. UE4 and UE5 are just a change in version number; they share a common modification method through .pak files. The Russians have an interesting method for loading this .pak file. They use their own launcher to start the game. Their translation replaces many of the game’s original files. By bypassing the simple protection of the Russian game launcher, I was able to replace other game files as well, including 3D models.

so they literally have nothing in common in terms of modding 💀💀💀

Outside of Russia nobody has made model swaps for wuthering waves using paks we use 3dmigoto. Ive written my own plugin to patch the pak file check and disable the anticheat for wuwa that can be used for Nikki but it will be more complicated. Wuwa doesn't care if you start without the launcher, Nikki requires it and also does way more extensive asset checking if I find the right place to hook it should work but I'd rather develop a runtime model importer

The new top (Easy Ride) from the March 2025 event outfit seems to have more of her tits meshed out. Can even see a little (miniscule amount of) underboob if you angle the camera properly. Seems to be a chance that everything except the nipples would be meshed with this top.

 

Her ass also looks really good in the pants that come with the event outfit. The Cutie Plaid skirt (from the Rosie Sweetheart set) matches the top well too, though the Agile Figure probably gives us the best look at her ass.

ngl its not too easy. its a brand new unreal engine plugin that has replaced the old fbx importer in the editor and also works at runtime with some setup. so very little docs and no community examples yet. I am trying to learn in the real unreal engine before attempting to write it for the live game. The good thing is if I get it working this will potentially work for all unreal games 5.4 and newer which would be massive as its the sort of thing that should ship with every game and can be patched in like how we enable console. Working also on tools to help get ue4ss up and going. If this new option doesnt work out I'll drop the idea and try more traditional approaches but I wanna give it a shot first and setting up a project in unreal with nikki assets is necessary no matter what, just takes time getting used to setup but its kind of fun dressing her up by constructing the outfits. Thankfully with uemodel format export from fmodel I can directly import models and animations without worrying about going to blender first and exporting as fbx. It doesnt handle materials at all though and I feel like you need a phd to undesrtand their materials in this game lol. so some of the time spent is probably just gonna be getting tools ready but at least then I can share those with other modders when the game side of things is ready

I have faith in you 🙌 The only thing i ask of you is to not rush, because there is no need to and you should think of yourself too. Also love the semi-frequent updates you give us so that we're not left in the dark 🙏

Also yeah i read somewhere that the way the handle materials in this game is kinda messed up lmao I assume its because of what they're planning to do with the dyeing feature in the short future or whatever... or they devs are not too familiar with 3D games as this is their first one from what i gathered 😅

Hello everyone,

I'm kinda new here and want to help out a bit, I was checking my friends wardrobe and found this shorts which is from the current 4 star gacha (Time of serenity) milestone rewards. It looks like it's showing more of Nikki's model below, I think it's her Nikkussy lol. Plus if you wear the stockings the shorts will glitch out showing more of her skin below and her butt? I tried zooming further and I can see the skin model when it goes through the shorts.

I appreciate your enthusiasm of wanting to help, but that's not what we're doing now here 😅 so i'd urge you to read the entire thread, especially animatedtiddy's posts. If you want to see which clothes have the most skin rendered, i'd suggest shader toggler. i would try it myself to see if this one shows anything more than a couple others (namely the Rosy Dance Skirt as an example of one thats easy to obtain("Full Confidence" bottoms too)) oh and you need to be wearing pantyhose-style socks.... idk why, but still.... thats not what we're trying to accomplish here anyway 😅 if it Did show more tho, then i would be interested in getting it to use it with shader toggler while waiting for animatedtiddy to finish 👀 I cant get it 'cause im saving currency since i went broke for other stuff
