Omnishade Posted November 21, 2024 Posted November 21, 2024 When installing the UAP patch I cought wind of the mod Zodiac, but since its thread is deleted there is no description around. Would someone be so kind as to give a brief overview of the contents of the mod and its aim? I only read a little in the request thread for it, but since there are three pages it's a bit overwhelming with all the info I already am cramming into my head for a new modded game. There was something about a stripper and bus stops. 😅
Erebea Posted November 21, 2024 Posted November 21, 2024 Zodiac was a prostitution mod. The player could register to join the Zodiac program via a book return terminal in the Boston Public Library. The player then got a deployable device, which when used at a bus stop would set up a temporary camp to attract clients. Which would arrive once the device would send out a signal, though it was also advise if the area was dangerous, and if the signal would lead to an attack rather than a client. After servicing a client, the player was paid in zodiac tokens, which could be turned in via any book return machine and used to purrchase things. There was also a scoreboard feature, which in theory you could win a prize every week if you could out perform the other Zodiac girls. There was a messaging system, to talk with the other girls. While prostitution isn't something I usually have my characters do in Skyrim or Fallout 4, Zodiac put at interesting spin on it, too bad it was discontinued and deleted by the creator. 3

IMHO it sounds pretty contrived and implausible for a post -apoc. For example why would "the girls" want to send each other mssages? There are several more plausible prostitution mods on here. I guess, the advantage I saw in it that the player wouldn't have to stick around any settlements they've populated or base game ones like Diamond City. They could get on with quests, or explore the map and setup at one of the many bus stops. I liked that about the mod. The plausible mods you mention, I guess involve talking to someone and then becoming a prostitute. While I understand why it is that way, it just feels a little too easy in my opinion. 3

Sounds pretty ingenious. The very concept of competition between girls or exchanging messages is something that isn't even in the base game or with mods. Always open to try new experiences. Too bad the author retired.

I agree, the player being apparently the only person going down the prositution path in a post apocalyptic world doesn't make much sense. I liked that they player wasn't the only one and the others were happy to chat, even if you never got to meet them. Again, I agree, that is why I tried the mod though not being a huge fan of the theme, I'm willing to try mods outside of my comfort zone. I totally respect that the creator retired, making mods and playing the associated game is an hobby/interest, and life is too short just to focus on that one thing. Though it is too bad that the mod never got expanded upon and became even greater. 2
