Practical Defeat: (Re)Animated

Hi! Been messing around a little with this. Getting an error that pyramid utils is out of date? But looks like author has scrubbed it from the web? Never heard of the mod before

 

Also fyi the linked amputator mod is not SE compatible and will result in t-posing

 

And what is going on with he downloads for bad endings/creature comforts/etc? Did the guy literally save the web page and think that's good? 🤣

It checks for a few things during a surrender keypress - no open menus, sheathed weapons, for the main defeat not running and being in combat.

So I'd suggest for you to try and check your logs, it should state the reason why it fails there.

Where do I find the logs?  It always says failed with creatures, gonna try humanoids

To reiterate, this mod only adds a system for player defeat at the hands of humanoid enemies e.g. Nords, Khajits, etc.

If you're using MO2, enable it in profile ini's - Tools - Plugins - Ini editor.

Then you can check the papyrus logs.

  • Smooth Cam
  • No Furniture Camera
  • True directional movement

guess it might be due to this combo? 🙂

Same for me unfortunately (camera locked during struggle), and I have those same mods 😉 

 

Another quirk I discovered- with Scrabs PE installed/enabled, PC gets tied up but nothing happens after that. With Scrab's PE removed, I get a pop-up error about PyramidUtils not found, but then actually works

If you are downloading the file that clearly says Page in the title:

then don't be surprised that it gives you a mod page and not the mod itself.

I was telling you to click the download button and download the actual mod from there.

 

Though, I don't know how well they work, since I've never used any of the add-ons.

Works for me and multiple other people with SPE 2.x (I use 2.1.3, the latest at the moment) - I suggest to troubleshoot your load order.

I've come across a serious bug. Not game-breaking, but really annoying.

 

My character got defeated by a bandit, who robbed her of all her stuff, and then she was enslaved vis SD+.  Her bandit owner was subsequently killed by some necromancers, but she managed to hide from them until they left. Then she was able to recover her stuff from her now dead owner's body. That much worked as expected - BUT her recovered stolen items had lost any improvements that they had before being stolen. So for example her "legendary sword of frost" had become just a plain sword, neither tempered nor enchanted. This was true for all of her improved items, both vanilla and mod added, both things enchanted when she found them as well as things she enchanted herself.

hi, krzp. Glad to play this great mod.
i found the MCM menu has some config for DDE(Devious Devices Equip) in restrain item, but the introduction for this mod havn't infomation about DDE. Thus i wonder whether this mod support DDE or not? I like both PD and DDE very much.

Practical Defeat is a plugin focused on player being defeated and its consequences.  If you want a plugin that makes use of Acheron's capturing of defeated enemies you're looking for something like:

This mod is smooth and works great. I was under the impression like the other guy that creature defeats work since there's an option for it in the MCM.

I have to say this as this frustrates me so much.

Why on earth is it so impossible to make a Defeat system that covers all types of enemies, that then also actually works with follower handling. SL Defeat can't do the later. This one can't do the first. YK doesn't work with custom followers either.

 

I understand if you don't want that type of creature content, but at least then add options to deal with creatures. Or teach the guys over at SL Defeat how to deal with custom followers. Because I can't, for the life of me, find a defeat system that unifies this. And I am so sick and tired of having to frankenstein them kinda together. It is not even about the whole adult content for me, just to have one mod that covers all these options if you want them or not. Naked Defeat btw can't teleport players/followers away either.

Or, you could simply explain, why this system doesn't cover creatures. Because it makes no sense whatsoever. I understand that you don't want to support all the creature adult stuff, fine, but at least, let the system handle them, so the events work with creatures as well. In a setting, where you have undead creatures, it makes no sense, that this system ignores ALL the crypts in handling defeat, when the player has to confront these creatures all the time.

I really don't know what your problem is. I do not expect you to do anything. I want to understand why it isn't done, and only because the situation is frustrating. I am a modder myself, I know how hard it is and how much time it consumes. But because we have so many defeat mods, I want to understand, why NONE is combining all of these features, when it is apparently possible to do them in the first place.

 

Btw; If any of you has the situation where PD doesn't fire at all, it might be because of Yamete Kudasai, which is another Acheron Defeat Mod. When using both at the same time, PD doesn't fire for me at all. I installed YK later, and PD stopped working. Starting a new game with both, will lead to the PD MCM not showing up (multiple tries/new saves), but is shown in Acheron. Disabling YK and making a new save fixed it instantly for me.

This wasn't an issue with the older version of PD.

 

And for the modder of PD, again: That doesn't mean you have to fix anything. YK isn't your mod, this is not an expectation, just an information.

Hey buddy, if you want creature content and also want to use PD, you can do this:
1 sexlab 1.63.
2 Acheron
3 PD
4 Simple attack

Then set the probability of PD to 99% and the probability of simple attack to 1% in Acheron, and you will get what you want.

I run both together and have no problems so skill issue I'm afraid
