TheRightDoorIsNotTheLeft Posted October 24, 2024 Posted October 24, 2024 After multiple playthroughs, I noticed that when you see VIctor Aiza's body next to the gravity on-switch, you see his body with a huge dried blood pool, but no gun. I figured he'd killed himself, but I don't see any gun anywhere. I'm wondering where it's (a) Bethesda trying to sanitize the scene in case some nations would make the game unsuitable for players under 18, or (b) they neglected to place the gun in his inventory or anywhere nearby. Given the track record, I'm going for option b. But maybe it's making sure UK or Germany doesn't raise objections because of a suicide moment.
nIn nIn nIn Posted October 24, 2024 Posted October 24, 2024 Game is already rated for Adult 18+ in my country, Australia. I could swear the very first time I went to that location, and found Aiza. There was a pistol floating near him, one of the old word pistol (the Colt 1911). But could never find it again after. Not sure what's going on there. It's not like Bethesda has shied away from depictions of suicide in their older games. In Fallout 4 that one house with a garage, with the skeleton hanging on a rope with the stool fallen over below it. Implying the resident had hanged himself either just after the bombs or just before.
In "Fallout 4" (but also in all Fallout games before it!) you can find plenty of such suicide victims - no two scenes are the same. But this is definitely a deliberately used narrative device by the authors and there are numerous parallels to reports from real wars of the last 150 years.
