Going back to FNIS for Skyrim LE, and here is why:

Nemesis has been giving me nothing but problems ever since I installed it in order to use skysa, and some other combat mods. When it works, it's great, and at times it seems faster than FNIS, but it seems like every time I try to update a SLAL pack and run Nemesis, it crashes despite not being anywhere near the animation limit, and not even using creature animations. I've just spent most of my weekend trying to fix it, and got absolutely nowhere.

FNIS has always worked for me, AND it allows creature animations, so I'm going back to what works.

I didn't know there was a version of Nemesis for LE. o_0

Anyway, every time I need to run Nemesis I reboot Mod Organizer first and then It almost never crashes for me.

You can supposedly run FNIS creatures along with it if you do it right, but 3 animation packs and DD already put me in the red with Nemesis if I don't delete all of those vanilla bestiality animations from their text files so I never bothered, because iirc Nemesis still tries to process the humanoid animations of oh-so-crucial feature of sucking off your horse.

IIRC, until someone more knowledgeable comes along, FNIS is closed-source and extremely outdated, whereas Nemesis is open-source, more recent, and more powerful. Again, someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

You definitely can run them together. I was running them together, and it worked fine for a while, but after updating to the latest version of three of the SLAL packs I use, Nemesis kept crashing. I reverted back to the older SLAL packs, and Nemesis continued to crash. Not worth the headache. If I want flashy combat, I'll use my SE/AE setup for that.

I'm on SE but personally I've never stopped using FNIS.

For all the talk of FNIS being outdated and subpar, I've never had a single problem with it for any of the animations I use in my playthroughs, of which there are thousands. It's always been nothing but reliable - can't say the same for Nemesis or Pandora. That said, creature anims are important to me and I don't use Skyrim as a Sekiro simulator so maybe I'm biased.
