VoiceEnjoyer Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 Theres is so many mods and I don't really want to go download them one by one and I also don't know all the really good ones, there is the beginner mod threads and that other one but I really have to go through and download one by one and then update them individually if there is an update(why dont we have actual mod loaders). It would be really nice to have some sort of base to work off of
flutie Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 yeah, that is not gonna happen, if they do that, your game will be broken and you will expect someone else to fix it, to many variables, so either mod it yourself or play the vanilla game 1
SilentAegis Posted October 10, 2024 Posted October 10, 2024 (edited) It's really not that hard to start or to do even a modicum of research to figure out what are the "staple" mods out there or to look into good modding practices. Modding yourself comes with doing the legwork yourself too, especially as it teaches you how to troubleshoot when things go wrong. And they will go wrong. Even if someone sent you a base, it's just going to break when the game updates. And then you'll have the task of getting everything updated, forcing you to do the same work you were trying to avoid. If you don't want to deal with the detriments of modding, then perhaps modding in general isn't for you. Edited October 10, 2024 by SilentAegis 4
GMac2021 Posted October 10, 2024 Posted October 10, 2024 (edited) Send a $1000 to my non-existent Patreon and I'll think about it for about thirty seconds. Or not. I do not mean to be mean. I've been modding since DOOM (yes, I am old) and it STILL took me a few hard lessons before I finally got a grip on how to download and organize mods for this game. And it is still hit or miss. You gotta do it yourself. If you ask other people to do it for you, you will never learn. File and folder organization is the key. Like @SilentAegis said - it takes time, patience, and research. Start slowly. You'll be fine. Edited October 10, 2024 by GMac2021 1
Rikerbabe Posted October 10, 2024 Posted October 10, 2024 I can agree with all of them...it all boils down to the legwork and research into finding the mods, as well as learning to mod. There are SO many reasons for not sharing mod folders, the main one being that not EVERYONE likes the same thing as another. And if you buy a mod from another creator, you can't go around sharing their hard work.
