When they witness a sex scene and start masturbating, they do it as if they had a penis, which is very unpleasant. What could it be due to?

It could be a few things.

 

Do you have female masturbation animations?

Click the ground and go to wicked, then select handjob and see if you have ones that aren't M for male or B for "both".

 

 

Are your sims set to take the female role in the animation?

Click the sim, Click Wicked... ->Personalization -> Role Assignment -> Gender Role -> Female.

This should make them use female animations if they can. Normally this isn't necessary, though. Default usually works if you have the animations for it.
