AnonLove19 Posted September 14, 2024 Posted September 14, 2024 Little Pawn - Voice Files View File This page used to include a 'patch' for Little Pawn 2.0.1 which fixed an issue I was having with a couple of quests soft locking during dialogue. However with help from Little Pawn mod author Heinz01 I found out it was an issue with the game setting for 'Dialogue Camera' being turned off that would soft lock the dialogue. So enabling Dialogue Camera while playing Little Pawn fixes the issue I was having. So now that Little Pawn has been updated, the 'patch' I made would no longer work, and with such an easy fix of just enabling a game setting, I've decided that I will not be updating that 'patch' for newer versions of Little Pawn. ------------------------------------ So when I looked at the amount of NPCs that were used in the repeatable delivery quest at first it was quite daunting. But when I actually looked closer all of the NPCs in that quest (464 NPCs, excluding the female and male PC) all of them use the exact same voice files, with the same file names and everything. So I ended up just generating 3 versions of the lines, FemaleBoston, MaleBoston and I used the PAM assaultron voice for the third version, and copying them over and over again. Then I just copied the FemaleBoston to all of the NPCs that were clearly labeled as female, NPCF or FemaleRaider etc. I copied the MaleBoston version of the files to the clearly labeled male NPCs, NPCM or MaleRaider etc. And I used the PAM version as a sort of androgynous voice for the few NPCs that were not clearly labeled as male or female, Announcer_Airport or HolotapeCITAdminVoice01 etc. Basically what this means is that all of the NPCs that you have to deliver stuff to in that quest will have one of those 3 voices. As a result all of the NPCs are voiced, but there might be mis-matches between NPC gender and the voice they are asigned. I have no idea how the Creation Kit works beyond extracting quest dialogue to generate voices so I don't know how the game randomely assigns voices to NPCs for quets like this. Hopefully the fact that I copied over the male and female voices to their labeled NPCs means any issues of mis-matched voices should be minimized, as best I can anyway, like I said a handful of the NPCs are not obviously labeled as any gender so I used the PAM assaultron voice for those few. I have not had the chance to test this quest with my voice files in-game yet but in theory it should work how I intend it to. This voice pack was generated using xVASynth 3.0.0. After Little Pawn updated to 2.2.2a I decided to just remake all of the voice files for the mod. The quality of the current voice files are generally a lot better than my first attempt at using xVASynth, but some of the voices are still fairly poor quality as listed below. Also, for unknown reasons, xVASynth throws up an error while processing the dialogue for the quest named 'The Vigilant' (Creation Kit name, I think the in-game name is 'Little Pawn and the Shroud'), where you meet the 'Silver Shroud'. This error in xVASynth resulted in the PC not having a few of the lines voiced towards the end of the mod. Dialogue and Quests still progress normally, just not voiced for about 10 lines or so specifically for the PC, NPC dialogue is unaffected. I've added a zip with a few samples as WAV files if you care. Admittedly the samples are probably some of the better lines especially for the 'low quality' voices like Bobbi No-Nose, Doctor Amari or MaleTriggerman. And something I have not shown is that xVASynth really doesn't seem to like 1 word lines. If there is a line that just says 'Yeah.' or 'Okay.' or something like that, the generated line just kinda turns out as a weird breathing kinda sound. List of NPCs in Little Pawn, and the xVASynth voices I used for them (colour indicates general quality of voice - Green = Good Yellow = Not Great Red = Bad - Spoiler FemaleRough - f4_femalerough Absalom - f4_maleraider01 Avery - f4_femaleboston Bella - f4_femaleboston Bobbi - f4_bobbinonose Not terrible but could be better. Byron - f4_maleboston Cassie - f4_femaleboston Ford - f4_maleboston Gore - f4_maleraider02 HancockDouble - f4_hancock Jensen - f4_maleboston Jessica - f4_femaleboston Kendra - f4_femaleboston Mel - f4_malemaineaccent Northy - f4_maleraider01 Riley - f4_maleboston SGRaiderOne - f4_maleraider01 SGRaiderTwo - f4_maleraider02 Shelly - f4_femaleboston SilverShroud - f4_newscaster Silver Shroud does not have a voice in xVASynth so I decided to use a voice that sounded at least a little bit 'official' or 'fancy' Sinjin - f4_maleghoul Stafford - f4_maleold SUGuard - f4_maleboston WayneDelancy - f4_maletriggerman Quality of this voice is quite bad, but should still be understandable for the most part... maybe. This NPC is not a major NPC in Little Pawn anyway so shouldn't ruin the experience for too long. MaleEvenToned - f4_maleeventoned MaleGhoul - f4_maleghoul MaleGhoulCombatant01 - f4_maleghoul xVASynth does have the 'f4_maleghoulcombatant01' voice, but the quality of that voice was so bad I just decided to go with the regular ghoul voice. MaleRough - f4_malemaineaccent - For some reason xVASynth does have an actual 'Male Rough' voice, even though it has a 'Female Rough' voice MaleTriggerman01 - f4_maletriggerman - Again same voice used as WayneDelancy so not great quality. And there are not many lines assigned to this NPC so it's not too intrusive. ClairHutchins - f4_femaleold Daisy - f4_femaleghoul DoctorAmari - f4_doctoramari Lines are understandable for the most part, but overall quality is not great. Fahrenheit - f4_femalerough FredAllen - f4_maleboston Ham - f4_maleghoul Hancock - f4_hancock Marowski - f4_maletriggerman Same with the other 2 uses of this voice, quality is not very good but this NPC only has a few lines so it doesn't ruin the experience for long StanSlavin - f4_maleboston PlayerFemale - f4_nora As mentioned above, an error in xVASynth when processing 1 particular quest means there a couple of missing voice lines near the end of the Little Pawn mod, but other than that everything is fine. PlayerMale - f4_nate Same error shows up for male and female player. I don't play male character so I can't be sure but I would assume the same lines are missing voice files as the female character. Little Pawn is designed for female PC anyway and all the lines for male PC are the same, so there are still feminine lines. Assaultron - f4_robot_assaultron This is the voice for K-L-E-O, the assaultron merchant near the entrance to Good Neighbor, she doesn't have a specific voice model in xVASynth so I just used the standard assaultron voice. Quality of this voice is good but it does sound a bit 'extra robot' on top of it being an assaultron voice. WhitechapelCharlie - f4_robot_mrhandy Similar to the K-L-E-O situation, Whitechapel Charlie does not have a specific voice model so I used the standard Mr Handy voice. It also sounds 'extra robot' but the quality is good and you can still understand everything properly. Huge improvement over the previous version of my voice files for Little Pawn. ------------------------------------ Also if you are using Problems of Survivor I also made a small compatibilty 'patch' (linked below) between PoS and Little Pawn to enable the Nudella quest from PoS without having to use the 'Maintenance Options' from Little Pawn to play the vanilla Silver Shroud to trigger the Buck Zilch interaction. Heinzelman Posted September 14, 2024 Posted September 14, 2024 (edited) Wow, I didn't expect someone making a Voice patch for my mod. So thank you very much, will try it soon Regarding the issues with the dialogue scenes, I can't reproduce them. Do you happen to have a mod that changes the dialog camera or head tracking or something like that? Edited September 14, 2024 by Heinz01 1

But reading your comment made me realize that I actually have the 'Dialog Camera' setting in game turned off (I personally really hate the dialog cam so I always turn it off, pretty much got to the point I even forgot it was an option in the game at all). I just disabled my patch and went back to original esp and enabled the 'Dialog Camera' option in settings, loaded a save from the newspaper quest and the dialog works fine. So it only 'soft locks' my game when the Dialog Camera is turned off apparently.

This is really cool and made me play with a happy smile on my face, I love it ❤️ Thank you very much for doing this! Edited September 14, 2024 by Heinz01 1
Heinzelman Posted November 11, 2024 Posted November 11, 2024 Hey @AnonLove19, I just tested your new Voicepack and it is fantastic. You improved Little Pawn a lot with this and I am very grateful for that. Thank you very much! As for the high number of NPCs in the RandomQuest: They are randomly selected according to rough conditions. And the likelihood of the player talking to even a majority of these NPCs in the random quest is very low. In my opinion, the effort required to generate voices for each is too high. I didn't even realize that there were so many possible NPCs involved in this quest 😃 For a future version, I plan to refine and expand this quest. I'll see if I can't filter these NPCs by VoiceType as well. Then there will still be more than enough. 1
Slorm Posted November 11, 2024 Posted November 11, 2024 Many thanks for this. I'm just starting a new game, so looking forward to seeing hearing your work🍻 1
BaneLeftNut Posted November 13, 2024 Posted November 13, 2024 Hello! Love your mod and Little Pawn itself. May I ask what the update 7 hours ago did? I cannot see a changelog.
