"installer prerequisite not fulfilled: sexlab.esm is active"???

i'm trying to update sexlab utility plus but i get an error telling me "installer prerequisite not fulfilled: sexlab.esm is active". i have sexlab installed and active, and i had a previous version of sexlab utility plus installed before this that didn't give me this error.

 

does anyone know what to do? i've tried reinstalling sexlab too but that did nothing. when i search sexlab.esm in my plugins menu in vortex i don't find anything either. i'm really confused.

sexlab v166b

 

sexlab utility plus was updated in april, which was released a few months after sexlab's latest update so the sexlab requirement should be the most recent version (at least, that's what i'm assuming. i don't see why it wouldn't be)

That error is not coming from SexLab Utility Plus v20240407.

.......okay, i just went to vortex to get a screenshot to show you that the error was tied to sexlab utility plus but now all of a sudden it just let me install it and i didn't get the error again. i haven't changed anything since making this post yesterday so i have no idea why it's working now when it wasn't yesterday. i'm so confused

 

well, at least it's working now lol
