brown66
Today I tried accessing the Starfield Creation Kit twice today and got a CTD when I tried to open Starfield.esm as an active file. I noticed that after these CTDs, two creation kit dmp files were created, but I don't know how to open and see their contents. Anyone with the same problem who has already discovered a solution? At least when it was released, this Creation Kit worked on my computer (I have 32GB of RAM). Link to comment
Reigor
Alright first steps. First thing to know is with the Starfield CK you can never have an esm as an active file. Only esp files can be active and thus editable. These esp files can then be saved as esm files for publishing. 1. Boot up the creation kit. 2. Click the save icon in the upper left. Name your mod that you want to make. This will create an esp file with that name. 3. Click on the folder next to the save icon. You will see your new esp will be the active file. Click on the esms you want to use as masters, at least the Starfield esm and click OK. 4. After a bit of a wait, the CK will load up with all the esms you selected and the active esp which you can edit. 1 Link to comment
brown66
Thank you for your help. In the meantime, I updated the Creation Kit (I didn't realize it was on standby on my Steam) and the CDT problem was resolved. Link to comment
