(Request) Fantasy Mod

This is a really big request... buuut.. I thought I'd make it anyway because it was a neat idea that came to mind. Doubt anything will come of it, but here it goes.

I'd like to request a massive pal model overhaul. Male and Female variants, but... in the flavor of fantasy races and tropes! I.E. a Direhowl might have a werewolf-like model instead. The Monkeys could become little goblins.

There is a vast array of fantasy races to draw on and creative liberties could be generously applied across the board like... idk... turning a foxsparks into like.. a Fire goblin? Fire kobold? Whatever works really. I just think it would be a really neat idea.

(TBH this request spawned from my own wish for a game like Palworld that featured fantasy races instead, and building a giant base/fortress/town with them. Capture elves, dwarves, orcs and more and have them all live together with their own wants and needs! Sadly that'll never be... I'll probably pitch it as a separate idea later, but yeah.. just a bit of background on it.)

The way skeletons work in palword is that you can make patches that add on to them but you can't replace them. Anything that is replaced needs to keep similar shape and animations to not completely bug out and break.

I mean I've seen a few mods that humanize a bunch of the quadrupedal forms

If this is the case, couldn't one overlap a second skeleton and make the model use that instead of the base skeleton? That way the original skeleton would still be there, it would still be animated, it just wouldn't have a visible model tied to it.

I'm studying a way to change the character completely, in this test I changed the skeleton and animations from wixen to cattiva pal

This is actually the method some people use. You can make it like, follow the movements of the original skeleton. Only really works when  hanging the proportions of a model without changing it's morphology.
