SDT_Kira Posted July 24, 2024 Posted July 24, 2024 So I have a pretty stable mod list so far with all the adult mods I like installed, lots of trials and error. Usually I would just play archery but I was thinking switching it up for funsies and I was met with the terrible vanilla melee combat experience so I was thinking of having some combat mods installed. Right now I have Valhalla Combat but was thinking of going all out and do Nemesis + FNIS. Then MCO DXP + Dodge MCO + Precision + SCAR + Maxsu Poise but I'm also very much afraid of crashing the game beyond repair or if the combat mods + Defeat (Baka Edition) and other adult combat mods make the game near unplayable melee or something. Was hoping to hear a few recommendations from anyone who's reading this and what combat mods they installed and if it works well with Defeat or simiar defeat mods
TheZenXen Posted July 24, 2024 Posted July 24, 2024 I use a basic list that is pretty much Precision, Mortal Enemies, Action based projectiles, and either Wildcat or Vigor. Its pretty lightweight and you dont need a dodge mod to avoid attacks but you can get one if you want. Additional mods I recommend are zslice backstab and parry, dodgeable dragon shouts, Nemesis, Violens (killmoves happen more often) and dodgeable concentration spells. If you want I can explain some of the mods and how they fit together.

Some of the mods you mentioned are easy enough to infer from the names but I can figure out in my own time. I'll take any recommendations you give so knock yourself out

Action based projectiles slows spells and arrows so you can dodge them and you can tweak speeds in the MCM. Vigor is basically a combat overhaul adding a poise system and injury system if you want one along with many other things. Dodgeable dragon shouts makes the dragons turn less after breathing fire and dodgeable concentration spells makes all concentration spells projectiles.
nilead Posted August 22, 2024 Posted August 22, 2024 I use SCAR+BFCO+Valhalla combat+Elden rim+Elden parry. Makes skyrim mellee combat enjoyable enough. Slowly building up Stances to finish the picture. If you go for FNIS+Nemesis, you can probably bypass Valhalla and go straight for Rim Parry and Execution. I was 100% done with nemesis crashes. and could not get it to work properly with pandora, but that would probably be a better option in your case. Thou valhalla changes are nice, stamina rework can easily be replicated, but tweaks it does to blocking might be hard to replace.
