latest update

the latest update has broken the game again. can't get into c.a.s.. it gave my sims that have poly jelousy traits. when i try to go to cas i get a infinite loading screen. when i try to stop it in steam it just keeps playing. please help.

sadly moretraitincas addon has break at this update, was the mod who caused infinite load on cas for me (remove it fixed)

Patch day always means mods are gonna break. On patch day, your plan should not be to play the game, but to figure out what broke so you can update it when the mod authors have their updates ready.

 

Mod authors are currently trying to figure out what the update broke in their mod and how to fix it, so all we can do is wait. It rarely takes more than a couple of days to fix. Most mod authors get it done within a day, or at least when the new expansion/pack/whatever actually releases.

so it's not more columns or more traits. still getting an infinite loading screen when i try to go to cas. will soon be starting over again. so much for the forteen hundred hours of game play. i can't even close the game from steam.

There's a suggestion in the steam discussions, that the new update for Lovestruck changes the way the game stores likes/dislikes radically, so any mod that adds lies/dislikes basically screws up CASS, and loading screen hang loop.

 

There is supposed to be a mod that "fixes" this with a wok around, but it didn't work for me at all.

Yeah I can choose a household to load but then it take me back to pick a world area.When I try to exit from there it freezes,literally have to restart pc to close it,lol

That didn’t fix my problem of being put back to world select ….Guess mine is a mod issue?

well i'm still getting a infinite cas loading screen and can't shut down sims 4 without restarting my pc. i'm guessing but did they also change how traits are done. that may be why i can't get in to create a sim. may just have to start over yet again. there's 1400 hours of playing that's ruined because of ea.

I can get into the game now , but cant save or even bring up motives , skills etc.Click but nothing happens.

It's definitely a mod.

IIRC, what was causing my infinite CAS loading screen was CAS more Columns. Removing that entirely fixed the issue. Try removing that from your mod folder and seeing if that fixes it. Even updating the mod left me unable to load into CAS. Removing it completely fixed the issue, but unfortunately it means you've got to deal with the default 2 colums, which is a nightmare in itself.

Check if you have King Zace's 15 clubs per sim mod and UI Cheats Extensions.

 

Go download the updated versions of both. King Zace's mod messes up the UI even with the updated version of UI cheats. So you need to update King Zace's mod, too.

so what would the more traits in cas file be named?Unless I have a different one.

I downloaded new one but its,thepancake1...more traits , I dont have that in my present mod files,lol

nope don't have any of those mods in the game. got a mod that was supposed to bypass the new likes/dislikes. still got infinite loading screen when going to cas and the only way to shut down the game is to restart my pc. so it looks like ea ruined 1400 to 1500 hours of game play. because all my major mods have been updated and i'm still having the same problem. so in a few days on the weekend i'm going to delete most of my mods and the game and start over. ok these are the two files i get after try to go to cas if anyone can figure out what's going on and what i need to remove i will thank you for saving my saved game.

AEP has not been updated since sometime in late 2022, that mod should be taken out. I also saw Wicked Whims which is also not updated, so that also needs to be taken out of your mods folder. Those are just the two I saw at a glance.

well i can download the latest wicked whims and i had forgotten that aep was even in there. will try pulling aep from the folder and installing the latest ww mod.

Wicked Whims is not updated, so keep it out of your game too.

ok here's the latest. removed aep didn't fix it still infinite loading screen when going to cas. removed wicked whims it deleted a sim. restored wicked whims to get the sim back. so will wait for whicked whims to be updated. if that doesn't work. well my 1500 save is beyond saving thanks to ea. at that point i will remove every mod i want to keep. i will then delete the mod file and the game. then reinstall the game and start restoring mods losing my old 1500 hour save file and starting over.

You would have still needed to remove those mods, but also make sure you remove any other mods that require either of these mods to work. Also, there still seem to be issues in general with the game after four patches, and I've heard another patch is on the way.

well sims 4 is still broken. same two problems. when i try to go to cas i get the infinite loading screen and the game can't be shut off unless i restart my pc. i'm probably going to lose my 1500 hour save file thanks to ea and there need to change the game. steam says i have almost 1800 hours in game. these are the last two error files. so if no one can tell me what mods i need to take out i'm going to have to restart after pulling all my mods. uninstalling the game. then reinstalling the game. i don't understand the wall of text in ether file. if anyone can help thanks.

1.  You need to download the Lot 51 Core module in order for AWE to function. 

2.  It is a UI exception, so I'd pull out any mod related to adding custom CAS traits and add in one by one to find the culprit. This one is not going to tell you which mod is the cause unfortunately, but at least you can narrow it down to just those specific mods.

ok finally got last exception assistant to work. the last exception was a ts4 script error. i'm deleting any old scripts and the mods there for. i wouldn't even know how to find the mods that add traits in cas. oh and awe used to be able to use base mental's universal lot mod. downloaded lot 51 core and will see if that fixes it.

Still having the same issue after the damn Lovestruck update. Updated Nisa, WW, and all the other mods that updated since the patch mucked everything up. Even after using Better Exceptions. You're definitely not alone. 

 

Though, on the other hand, modifying a single Sim in CAS is still possible through the MCCC menu, just not households.

You need both Lot 51 Core AND Basemental's Univeral Venue list. Lot 51 Core works in the background and has nothing to do with an actual lot. It helps the mod function without conflict.
