best way to populate Settlements.

How does the base game "settlement recruitment beacon" even work? You ever find a pocket transistor radio on a settler? They don't have Pipboys!

You can populate them with captives with the commonwealth captives mod.

You can populate them with Family planning with a "make your own settlers" approach.

You can populate them with slaves using Just business.

Currently I'm using Family Planning, playing Nate, and starting with 4 unique female Vault 111 refugees, so 12 food + 1 medical seller + 1 scrap seller. Make more as needed, just gotta plan ahead.

As a general rule, I only build the Sanctuary beacon and activate it for a few seconds (just to finish the quest).

After that, I tend to exclusively populate with freed captives from CC, there are always plenty of them around at regular spawn points when you want to add a few more bodies to a settlement and you can control how many people arrive at your settlement at any given time. The odd "road settler" is taken in as well, along with recruitable NPC merchants etc.

Using this method, I can make sure a settlement is always ready for any new arrivals, no food, bed, water worries etc.

Oh, and Ghouls go to "the slog" and Super Mutants go to my Super Mutant Colony at "outpost zimonja"

As a settler, you don't need a Pipboy - the settlement signal works like the small amateur radio stations that you find in abundance... some give out emergency signals.

But since raiders also have such radio stations, it makes perfect sense to attract raiders as well as potential settlers... especially if you're building a vault!

One of the many, many things that no one thought about when creating this game... and so it was once again the mod authors who came up with sensible solutions.

My personal favorite is -> "Commonwealth Captives"... precisely because you can decide for yourself which of the freed cardboard noses you want to recruit for one of your settlements.

Since I also use "Personal Beings" together with the "Raider Reform School", I of course have some very special "settlers"

Kein Grund zur Entschuldigung, vielen Dank. :Daumen hoch:

Get well soon - the blog won't "run away" from you
