Can you delete clothing items in the outfit studio?

Hi everyone, I have a question for the more advanced Outfit Studio users. I use the (Remodeled Armor SE - CBBE 3BA) mod, and it's pretty good, but I'd like to make it a bit more free-form. I've been playing around with Outfit Studio for a long time, and it works pretty well, at least with clothing adjustments and saving correctly. But now I've noticed by chance that if you right-click on an item, such as panties, in the top right of the Outfit Studio where the clothing items are listed, you can completely remove it. I know that you shouldn't remove the main item (what makes the body naked, e.g. bodysuit or bra), because then the NPC's body disappears in the game). I've done it a few times with an outfit, in Fallout 4 and also in Skyrim. So to explain it a little better, if an outfit consists of (bodysuit, briefs or skirt, leg guards or cuffs), for example, and you're lucky enough to see all the pieces listed individually on the top right-hand side, I simply delete the leg guards with the right mouse button, so they no longer appear in the game. Now I can equip them with nice stockings in the game using an NPC clothing changer, for example, which looks much cooler to me. Up until now, it's always worked. Can I do that with (Remodeled Armor) too, because all the items of clothing are listed in many individual parts there too, but I don't like the leg guards and they appear in almost every item of clothing? I'd also like to remove the skirts. But since the mod is pretty big and extensive, I'm not sure if that's possible? Does anyone know if deleting individual items of clothing is actually a good idea, I mean, why else would there be this option...!

Yes, however if this Version of Remodeled Armor is based on Chronotrigger's original one for LE then there should be a bunch of Zap options when you build them in Bodyslide, which will save you using Outfit studio. Tick these to remove that item from being included when the outfit is built in BS.

Also, if you are doing this in OS, it's better to Edit the base outfit found under Data\CalienteTools\BodySlide\ShapeData and then generate it Bodyslide.

And before you export the modified .nif rename the original so you have a back up.

Hello Mez558, first of all, thank you very much for your quick reply (great community). So, you think I can do that, I'm happy about that. Then I'll get to work right away. I'll still do it in the outfit studio, even though it's very laborious and takes a long time to edit all the outfits. Even though most modders do a very good job, I don't just want to remove individual parts, I also want to repair parts at the same time (if necessary). For example, I love it when it looks like the nipples are pushing through the top, or the pussy is pressing against the crotch. So I always bring out the clothes a little in these areas, it looks really cool. Most of the shoes also need to be made a little bigger, just a little so that the straps don't push through. PS: I didn't mention it, but I've done it before with Remodeled Armor, but it broke my game. Everything went well in my big castle with lots of NPCs, but when I was doing a mission and several enemies came at me, the whole screen was distorted and torn up. I knew straight away that it must be the clothing, so I deleted the mod and undid everything and, lo and behold, everything was fine again. However, I accidentally saved 2 heavy armors with light armor, so I had the heavy armor twice but no light armor. And I guess the game didn't find that so funny, since it couldn't show any light armor anymore... But mistakes can happen. I'll try again now and pay more attention. Thanks again for your answer and stay healthy.

Welcome. 😜

Anyhow, just wanted to add that if you remove parts from an outfit, remember to also remove the associated equipment slots. Equipment slots is what determines which outfits can be worn together, not the visual mesh or the space it occupies. This is done in both OS and xEdit, you need to make 3 edits in total to change the slots. Plenty of tutorials on Google I'm sure.

Also, you may run into this bug. Something to keep in mind.
