Constant error installing Sexlab

Recommended Posts

I have all of the requirements met.  But, when I installed Sexlab and ran FNIS, I received the following result:

FNIS Behavior V4.1 Experimental   11/25/2013 8:19:14 AM
Skyrim: 1.9.32.0 - C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim (Steam)
Generator: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim\Data\tools\GenerateFNIS_for_Users
Skeleton female: XPMS (242 bones)   male: XPMS (242 bones)
Patch: "SKELETON Arm Fix"

I first tried installing the mod with NMM and doing all of the tinkering I could to get it to install correctly; but, I always received this error.  Finally, I decided to try just dropping everything into the Data folder, in case there was some reason that the instructions appeared to direct one to do that.  Unfortunately, now, it's all installed with no easy way to uninstall it, and it's giving me the same error.

You sure you don't have a virus scanner that's causing the problem?  I know some of the free to use virus scanners have interfered with FNIS installations in the past (recently Avast was even flagging SKSE as a virus).  You'll see several notes in the FNIS comments section about issues with some virus scanners.  Try suspending/disabling the virus scanner, then install FNIS again and run the Generator and see if that helps.  If so, you may need to add the tools folder (or even the entire data folder for Skyrim) to your virus scanners ignore filter.

I'm only having trouble with FNIS when I try to install this mod.  It works fine up until I try to use it on this.  When I painstakingly deleted all of the Sexlab files, FNIS ran fine, again, returning this result:

* By any chance, are any of the FNISRoot_Behavior.hkx or animal behavior_FNIS.hkx files supposed to be REPLACED by FNIS_SexLab files?  If so, I could manually do that... but, I suspect that all of the files belong there together, so, I'm not going to attempt it without someone telling me that that's the way it's supposed to be.

** This really, really sucks, because nothing runs without this, and FNIS doesn't offer advice when it comes to fixing other people's mods, so, if I can't get an answer here, I'm not playing.

I reinstalled my entire game five or six times from a completely Skyrim-scrubbed PC (and all saves deleted on the Cloud) when the new versions of these mods came out to try to cope with these installation problems, but I'm stuck, here.  I ran SD successfully in the past before the version changes, but never tried anything else; now, I can't even run that.

Although this probably shouldn't matter, an issue I did report to FNIS was that, when I was installing the latest version of that program and tried to "Download with Manager," the installation didn't work with the first file, so I had to follow the "extended manual installation instructions" at the bottom of the page.  Since the program otherwise works, and I used a legitimate installation method, I hesitate to attribute the problem to FNIS.  But, it's odd behavior to hit "Download with Manager," see the NMM screen pop up, but, then, nothing be installed.  While I'm not playing my game, I suppose I could update my FNIS post to reflect that I'm encountering more problems after the initial installation issue... not that I expect a change in the policy against supporting other mods.

*Sigh*

*** I'm REALLY stretching here, but, could there be some hidden flaw in NMM that's screwing up my installations?  Because, that's the ONLY program that I haven't completely reinstalled at LEAST five times since Friday (I've completely given up on solving it, myself, at this point).
