Astara-Ki Posted May 30, 2024 Posted May 30, 2024 (edited) So over the last week or so I've made the jump from LE to AE and completely rebuilt my modlist from the ground up. I've gotten pretty much every other issue taken care of barring one: Devious Devices will not work no matter what I do, and I'm pretty sure I know why. I just want to see if there are any alternatives before I completely scrap my build and start again and/or wait a million years for it to be updated. I've made my modlist for AE 1.6.1170, but, as far as I can tell, DD hasn't updated past .640, and will not run with my version of SKSE (Or just the game version itself). This is a problem for my mod list, as about 1/2 - 2/3 of the NSFW content mods for it rely on DD as a hard dependency. I've done some research into it, but there doesn't seem to be a workaround. Here're my options as I understand them: Â 1. Wait for DD to be updated to the newest version. Â PROS: get to use all my mods exactly as I have them now, with minimal work. CONS: Could be released tomorrow, could be released when ES6 comes out. Who knows. 2. Revert the entire modlist and game back to version .640. Pros: Theoretically functioning build of the game with DD and all of its mods, and an achievable goal (Something I can actively work towards). Cons: Have to downgrade the game (Which I tried once already and fucked up massively) AND have to downgrade the MODLIST (Basically nullifying the last five days of work). Â 5. Play the game without DD Â Pros: Play a new version of Skyrim with new content and moderate horniness Cons: Like half of my NSFW content mods are unusable 3. Try Devious Devices NG? The one thing I haven't tried is running Devious Devices NG, as it adds a lot of requirements for an overhaul that very likely would just break things more in their current state. I saw this suggested once on a Reddit thread, and I'm assuming it won't work, but who knows? Hopefully people here. Would this work? 4. Update the mod myself? As I was browsing the SE versions of many of my old LE mods, I saw quite a few threads here talking about the personal update process from an LE mod to an SE/AE mod, and it seemed fairly straightforward: just run it through SE/AE Creation Kit, save it, and it's ready. DISCLAIMER: I may be either misunderstanding something here or wildly underestimating the complexity of the process. Would a manual update be as easy as this, or are the changes between .640 and .1170 large enough that it's a completely different ballpark? Would it even be possible given the files publicly available, or would I need the source code or something? Â Â Mainly, this whole text dump was me sort of rubber ducking my situation to see if I missed any option here or there; I thought I might as well post it here to see if any of y'all had any input on the subject. And will all the other mods that require DD work with this version? (Devious Strike, Devious Followers, Deviously Cursed Loot, Kyne's Blessing, Sanguine's Debauchery, Submissive Lola, and Rubber Facility are the ones I'm currently looking at running)

krzp Posted May 30, 2024 Posted May 30, 2024 Alternatively, you can browse around the support thread of the SE download page - iirc, there were a couple of patches that should remove the SKSE capabilities that render base 5.2 incompatible.

After modding for like 4 days straight over the long weekend I've either been at work or exhausted so I haven't looked at anything much in the past few days. This info is greatly appreciated and should make this last little bit possible. Just in time for me to be away from my desktop for four days, lmao, but that's just how it goes.
