I doubt it's possible. It wouldn't surprise me if uses their own custom engine like HGH and SS.

Probably too late, but I would like a hack that only makes them topless. That was apparently what they were like in the first version of the hack that I do not have access to.

 According to SteamDB, the PC version of Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution seems to be packaged in Unity.

If the Unity Engine is actually used to run the game natively and not simply used as a layer for GBA emulation, we could hypothetically extract the sprite sheet, edit it with nude sprites, and import it to the game to have Shantae naked and possibly others as well. The skimpy outfits from the Deluxe DLC would make for a good base to start on.

It being in unity makes things considerably easier.

 

The only only wall thing that might cause some slowdown is having the mod in a format that makes it update-proof. I could easily use UABE to make a texture mod, but mods made that way tend to become outdated once an update occurs and shifts all the IDs in the game.

Yeah, the better solution is to use a texture replacer BepInEx plugin but I never figured how to use any of them.

My pain point is having to find and use the hash name of the texture rather than the actual file name.

If you're still planning on doing that, I request that you swap out the boobs on the menu sprite with this version, because the person who made the edit already gave OP permission to use it for this hack.

Bad news: not only does it appear to be an emulation layer, but I couldn't find anything resembling a specific ROM file, either, even after using Asset Ripper to extract everything (the Streaming Assets folder only had "save icon" pngs). The only textures that got exported are stuff like the high-res cutscene graphics, not any gameplay sprites, so my guess is that they're stored in whatever old, non-compiled format GBA sprites were made in back in the day--a format we might not have the tools to modify.

Great, I guess we'll have to do it the old fashion way then: editing sprites/tiles with YY-CHR or Tile Layer Pro.

Extracting the ROM may be hard, but the ROM itself was released earlier than the Unity version so just find a copy of that somewhere.

That's okay; I have a bunch of other nude patches I want to make before this one, so I'll let someone else do it. I mainly just wanted the speculation to end.

I just overlooked it, LOL. It's "Resources.bytes" in the Assets > Resources folder:

I was so focused on looking for a file that was *exactly* 4096KB that I didn't think to check the larger files.
