Naked Shantae GBC Hack

Looks good initially, though I still see plenty of room for more updates. Also curious to see how far the sprite edits will go. After Shantae, the npcs, and the other current tasks are done, it wouldn't be a bad idea to turn your focus to the enemies as well.

If I could offer some advice for this one, I'd just say make her nipple color the same as her pants, if possible. Would be a much more natural color I think. Nice work so far, though.

I'd say this is a good idea as well since it would make her chest stand out a bit more than currently.

Having worked with 8-bit sprites before, I can tell you that changing that color would also affect her eye (making it look heavily bloodshot...or evil) and that dot on her cheek. The only way to keep her nipples red--without butchering her face--is to redraw her boobs entirely so the nipples never go that far up to begin with. As for the NPC in the last two screenshots, those tiles would likely need to be assigned a different palette entirely (if not also needing slight redrawing), which is definitely a more advanced hacking technique and may not happen.

Looking at the title screen image gave me an idea.... Is it possible to make her pants appear transparent ingame so that you could see the outline of her legs or is that too advanced to be done?

This is a 2D game; it's just pants on that sprite. However, it would be fairly simple to redraw & recolor them into being bare legs, especially since tan is already one of the colors in its palette.

 

By the way, OP hasn't logged in since making the thread, so that subreddit might be a better place to make suggestions. In fact, OP recently posted an update there featuring exactly what you asked for (at least on the file select screen): no pants, bare legs.

Oh crap! I forgot to add shine to her arm. There is some black void around her legs too but too lazy to fix. Instead of tiles, I'll have to make separate sprites because of the moving background. I asked OP on Reddit a couple weeks ago and got this response:

It doesn't exist. This is the only Shantae game not on Steam (and if it ever did come to Steam, chances are it'd just be the ROM with a pre-packaged emulator, meaning this patch would still work on it as-is without needing a separate Steam version).

Its sad that the project seems cancel. I would love to see shantae(GBC) and shantae risky revolution(GBA) with nude mode

 

Ps: and before "shantae is minor" the creator himself confirm she is major

Seeing a nude mod for the gba title would be nice. There are even a few moments where npcs could also benefit from getting the nude treatment

I wish ALL the games had nude mods, sadly it seems we'll never get any until people figure how to even mod the games (there's not a single mod ANYWHERE other than this hack).
